  1. I know, me too. I laughed when I first read it.
  2. Yes--very nice people and they're small enough that they respond to every e-mail personally. Unfortunately, the company is in financial trouble because not enough stores want to carry their products. So spread the word!
  3. I stop if several report a reaction or if I have one myself--the one exception to this is the FritoLays products, which I am okay with, so I use. Most mainstream products are not in dedicated facilities, so it's difficult to eat that way without racking up a monstrous grocery bill (unless you cook completely from scratch, basically).
  4. Thank you everyone! I wrote the GIG article a few days ago and had great difficulty cutting down the "you might be celiac if..." things...I'm down to 51, now. Still want to go over it one more time before I send that one out.....
  5. Moderately high cholesterol...but nothing that needs to be medicated.

  7. The one we went to and the group I would most recommend is the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG). Website: Open Original Shared Link
  8. Most of my comments on the Gluten Free Bible apply to Against the Grain, as well. And many things are worse in that book than in her updated version--for example, her stance on cross-contamination. I'm going to restrain myself from saying any more than "I don't like it." Yes, I had thought the same way before about ble (imagine an accent aigu over the...

  10. She can absolutely post here and we'll keep an eye out .
  11. How is it going so far? Or are you holding it?
  12. Yes. College football and college basketball are better than their professional counterparts. Another Ranger fan... they're terrible. I'm not asking for a Stanley Cup in only ten years--I'm just asking for a decent playoff run.
  13. It never made it. Try typing it again and make sure to copy it before you post...that way if it freaks out again, you can try a third time without having to type it up again.
  14. Oh, of course. Downstairs...it took me awhile to pick up on that, lol. You could come out with a bowel line.
  15. lol...there's the sense of humor...both very nice sounding colors Sorry, what do you mean by going downstairs in a bag?
  16. Bush (or another President) would have to hold the position for 630 years to get the salary that Rodriguez gets in ten (assuming the salary doesn't go up). Or, to put it in perspective, 63 years to earn what A-rod gets in one. That's pathetic. That's my primarily qualm with many of these sports. And while nearly all athletes are overpaid, I think hockey...
  17. Absolutely. That's what I was saying when the Orioles were ahead. If one of our teams wins the division and the other takes the wild card, the Yanks are out!
  18. Ice hockey. I was miserable with the NHL lockout. Other than that...I pretty much like most else. I love skiing and tennis..... basketball, soccer, lacrosse, running are good...I'm too small to play real football, but I like touch. Umm...not a fan of Nascar, golf, etc. Oh, sports teams: Hockey: I've been a loyal Ranger fan since the ripe age...
  19. I think I could already hear your terrific sense of humor seeping in by the end of the post. Try to think of it as positively as possible. And like Laura said, you have to put up with it now, but then someone else has to open it up. I'm just sorry that it came at such a bad time--with the back being an issue, too. Just try to make light of it and...
  20. We now have a Sports and Fitness section (oh, and a celiac meetup section, which kids aren't allowed into , just kidding) so I'm moving this one to make it the first topic in there.
  21. Wow--which one? Locked means that nobody can post under that topic. Are you sure it wasn't the "moved" sign? EDIT: I also like the Red Sox--my brother is a diehard Red Sox fan (from NYC, lol). Wears his cap everywhere and when my mom and I went to a celiac conference in Chicago, he and my dad went to three games at Fenway over a three day period...
