  2. Hey, I live in NYC, also! I'm only 14, but I feel like I have a handle on this diet and I'd love to help you, as well. If you give me a slightly more specific location (neighborhood) I can help you a little more. There are some AMAZING gluten-free bakeries and restaurants downtown (most exclusively or nearly exclusively gluten-free) and there's a restaurant...
  3. Foods by George makes a very good frozen pizza. And I like the Chebe breadmix for a pizza crust the most.
  4. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link These two are.... basically the same exact list--
  5. Yes, here it is: Open Original Shared Link
  6. That's what I do...I'm babysitting two nights this week and one next week... it adds up
  7. Yup...a few months ago. It was mostly about some powdery stuff.... For anyone interested, Trojan's fine, lol. I'm embarrassed to know that, but maybe I can help someone else--believe me, by the time I'm at that stage, I'll need to re-verify, lol
  8. Bob and Ruth's....an existing celiac travel club.
  9. The GIG conference, lol. Seriously... I don't think that's true. Any damage done by gluten (in the form of contamination, etc.--I'm not talking about twenty years of damage) will be completely healed in three months. Well, if you're looking for a worry-free vacation, that's probably the way to go. If you're looking for a fun, educational...
  10. That sounds a lot like DH...bilateral rash, blistery in some places.
  11. Pre-made bread: from Charlotte's bakery--amazing...the best, but I think they have high shipping (only tried them at a conference)...for a more reasonable bread in the way of shipping, Ener-G is the least brick-like, but still not very good after having tried Charlotte's. English muffins: Foods by George Mix: Mona's...amazing french bread and bread...
  12. Believe, me, I think I've seen everything--I've seen posts discussing everything from graphic descriptions of bowel movements (everywhere) to gluten in the stickers on fruit (here) to gluten-free condoms (Delphi).... anything you can think of has probably been asked before
  13. Awww... If you get emotional when you get glutened, though, make a conscious effort not to make any important decisions that you will regret later (i.e. breaking up with you boyfriend when, a few days later, you'll feel completely the opposite way). Does your family take it seriously usually or do they not understand it? I guess all you can do...
  14. There is currently no way to test for the presence of rye or barley, but there are test kits for wheat. Let us know how it goes
  15. I know. Isn't it great? I'm not sure if I've ever said this before, but when I came here, my initial intention was to come, find out about celiac, then run, lol. For about four months I just read, then I would see an answer and would go, "I know that," and I would respond...I figured, why not give the person a quick answer. That developed and now I...
  16. I'll warn you now. It is vary rare that you will find a GI doctor, or any doctor for that matter, who will approve of Enterolab. It's a slightly...unorthodox, unproven method of testing, besides which, the doctors want you to test at THEIR hospitals.
  17. Terrific. Good to know that the whole line is gluten-free. Thank you!
  18. What's the Nest? Can you provide a link?
  19. You definitely fit the profile. As Kaiti said, you can't know for sure without testing, but to go over them individually: Fatigue is the most common symptom in celiacs--even moreso than loose stools, which are also extremely common. Frequent passing of stools, bloating, gas, all very common. Depression, anxiety, brain fog all associated with untreated...
  20. The ones on the gluten-free list that aren't one of the four I listed are made from gluten-free ingredients, but because they are made on the same lines as other gluten-containing products, they cannot guarantee that depsite cleaning the lines, there may have been contamination. I used to eat some of the products not made on dedicated lines, such as Wavy...
  21. Cyclic vomiting? I got that diagnosis, which I believe was false, about three years ago. It's a migraine that manifests itself, primarily, in the form of vomiting, stomach aches, etc. often with light flashes, etc. I think that was just a combination of my other two REAL problems. They don't really know much about it and you can't test for it. I was...
  22. I know the assorted chewables (regular vitamins) are gluten-free.

  24. No, no...classic ones are regular ones. Just like regular Coke is called "Coca-Cola Classic." Baked are not dedicated, but the "classic" (regular) ones are made on dedicated lines.
  25. Ummm...okay. They're on the df list, I'm pretty sure--but like a lot of the things on the gluten-free list (with the exceptions of those four products), there is a chance of contamination, since they're not necessarily on dedicated lines.
