  1. Hah...I just noticed something under another post that would be more fitting to post here. It's so funny to read the posts now, cause you have Tiffany congratulating someone, and I imagine her with her legs in the air like that saying congratulations and then right after her Stef posted (she's also diving through the air).... Good avatar...I still...
  2. Thank you everyone! (particularly Tiffany and "JunkMonkey") I have also decided to write to the first pediatrician I had. Most of my doctors have been pretty good, but he really messed up... dismissed all of my stomach aches, saying either that I wanted attention or that it was childhood allergies that weren't worth the expense of testing for and...
  3. Malt vinegar, etc. is not gluten-free. Distilled vinegar is gluten-free, as the gluten is "removed" in the distillation process, and a number of others are gluten-free. Yep, Richard compiled the list at Delphi, where I noticed it, brought it over here, and since then Kaiti has reposted numerous times.
  4. I love Classico...yep, all gluten-free. I use the Four Cheese mostly.
  5. It's milk, wheat, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, soy, I think. It will rule out many of the products, since wheat is usually the culprit, but in terms of positively identifying the products as gluten-free, won't help. Sort of like the gene test for celiac, lol.
  6. Oh...if you do something similar when it comes to reading labels, you should have a few options, maybe like: gluten-free, not gluten-free, or phone the company. Also, maybe say that you have to say each ingredient is gluten-free or not, so it's methodical (or make the person identify the questionable and non-gluten-free ingredients. I'll still think some...
  7. Not shy on the computer, particularly on this board. But shy in real life.
  8. I strongly second the Open Original Shared Link and the Foods By George Perhaps look @ this thread: Open Original Shared Link
  9. Very cool... uhh, I don't know where to start. Just saying that it's great that you'll do something like that for us and keep us posted! I'll sleep on this one.
  10. Wheat-Free, Worry-Free by Danna Korn and Shelley Case's book...I concur.
  11. I feel bad, now. Not doing much for awareness. I don't send letters to people, cause most of the doctors I have gone to know about it and the ones I'm currently going to already know enough. And I'm a pretty shy person, so with the food being a social stigma, I feel most comfortable not going into the fullblown details. You guys make them aware and...
  12. Okay, I've been remiss in my posting articles, but I'll post them now: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  13. I think that might have been the child's mother posting for the child...
  14. I know, lol. I was shocked to see two in a row from different continents

    ARCHIVED Our Dr.s Are Great

I had one terribly incompetent doctor, two very good drs., and now I have all phenomenal doctors... 1st pediatrician -- terrible...kept dismissing my symptoms (from both celiac and malrotation) as being an attempt at getting attention or childhood allergies that I would outgrow. 2nd pediatrician -- thought he knew what it was, didn't really, but...
  16. You've put up an avatar before, so I doubt it's this, but are you editing personal picture options, rather than avatar options? Trying to update it with a personal picture would result in the error message that you're not allowed to do that and you should contact the admin. I doubt that that was the problem, but just want to rule that out first.
  17. Yes, I've tried those same crackers. I don't think they taste exactly the same, but they look the same and I like them. I wouldn't eat them normally, cause they don't have a lot of flavor, but prior to gluten-free I ate Saltines when I was sick and these have (or should I say, HAD, since I've been healthy the past few months) served the same purpose.
  18. Sure. New name (from gapspan to bellytimber)....what prompted that change?
  19. Haha!!!
  20. I was there, too! Maybe I saw you but of course, didn't know who you were. It was a terrific conference and I agree that GIG is a terrific group--in my opinion, the best national celiac support group. I was skeptical about how much I would learn--I thought that it might be a more basic thing for newbies, etc, but I learned so much! -celiac3270
  21. I agree, but had, at times, wondered the same thing. Thank you!
  22. Congratulations! I bet you're sleepy now, right?
  23. Then if you're only going to get a few bags, it's a good deal, but if you are buying or want to buy in bulk, then you're better off with the internet.
