  2. Dora's Cinnamon Stars are REALLY good. My other stand-by is cocoa puffs. Enjoy!
  3. Before my dx I had intermittent back pain. A few months before my dx I began to have foot cramps multiple times daily. It was one of the symptoms that got me BACK to the doctor AGAIN and made me demand that they figure out what the heck was wrong with me! The foot cramps (and the back pain) resolved about 2 weeks after going gluten free. Now I only get...

  9. I also had ALL the symptoms plus anemia, constant foot cramps, severe edema. Wow, do I feel better after going gluten free! Sometimes the progress is so slow I get frustrated, but this puts it in perspective--THANKS!
  10. So far I've only used the San-J wheat free soy sauce, but I'm reasonably sure that La Choy soy sauce is also gluten free. In any case, it is a con-agra brand and they always list gluten. Enjoy your wok! AND your KITTY
  11. --> QUOTE(Soo B @ Jun 21 2006, 12:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> -- I ALWAYS ask them to put on fresh gloves, and sometimes I get eye rolling or even yelling, but they eventually do it. Geez, do they think we LIKE having to ask them to do that? -- How true. I'm always extra-apologetic when I ask. "I hate to be a bother, but I have this allergy...

  13. I just made Pamela's today and it was EASY and really GOOD! I'm so happy! It is the first decent bread I've eaten since my diagnosis! My husband actually said it was the best bread he ever tasted. hmmmmmm....maybe he's just trying to make me feel better since he's not celiac Anyway, do try the Pamela's. I mixed it up in my Kitchenaid stand mixer...
  14. The colonoscopy is a good idea for all of the aformentioned reasons. Also, the GI doctor needs to make his boat payment!
  15. Outback Steakhouse, Carrabas, PF Changs, Bonefish Grill, Macaroni Grill, all have gluten free menus. Still make a big deal with your server about cross contamination, so they're careful. Also, the Triumph Dining cards are fabulous at any restaurant. Bon Apetit!
  16. I copied the info below directly off the Taco Bell website and pasted it here. I have had the Zesty Chicken Bowl and the Southwest Steak Bowl (with the modifications specified) and didn't have a reaction. I also ask them to change their gloves before preparing mine. Hope this helps. Suggestions for Wheat and Gluten Sensitive Individuals - Tostada...

  18. Just stand in front of your mirror and practice saying, "Hi. My name is Cassidy and I'm a celiac. I have no power over gluten." Seriously, though, I understand how you feel. I was afraid to go to a meeting, but when I went (I actually had to travel about 2 hrs to get to one) I was very glad that I did. What I found was a great group of people who...

    ARCHIVED Pf Changs

Thanks, guys. Just so you know, I did not end up getting sick, and the food was wonderful, so I will be going back . I think I will talk to the manager about my experience, though, and ask him to make sure about the clean pans and about making sure the wait staff knows the procedure as well. Dining out causes enough anxiety without being given incorrect...

    ARCHIVED Pf Changs

So I bravely tried PF CHANGS today for lunch. Asked for the gluten free menu and then when our server began mixing the sauce for the table I asked it it was also gluten free. She said no, but she'd make me some up special. When I ordered, I asked her to take my Triumph dining card to the chef. She said, "Oh, it's okay, we put clean oil in the pan...
