  1. Yes, and I'm SUPPOSED to be spending more time with the kids but this thread has tooooooooo many email notifications.......
  2. Thanks Vincent! I'll have to see what hubby thinks of that one. You have a point, and a very good one I might add. Cashews are good though.
  3. My daughter thinks she needs the same size serving as her dad or I.
  4. Oh man!!!! That's right....we can't have eggnog anymore. We used to drink Silk Nog and are soy intolerant. We've gone dairy free as I'm dairy allergic, don't know about the kids yet. I suspect they are too since there enterolab scores were about the same as mine, which if I'm right would be mildly allergic. So much for the party. ...
  5. Laura, Are eggs in everything too.....probably.
  6. I don't know how you do it! When I was working (I quit to be a mommy in 1999), we had just gotten mailine computers (I worked for a bank, accounting) with windows. I always enjoyed minesweeper, which a coworker showed me. We always had to watch for the boss. I always got my work and others work done though. I spent some time reading too. When I worked...
  7. Gabbing is great! I'll leave the ADULT talk to everyone else....
  8. Or would it be that I'm the kid and playing on the computer too much?
  9. I agree with everyone else about the intolerance. It can take up to 2-3 days for more noticable reactions to manifest. I thought Vance's tasted ok, but it gave me a headache. Maybe it was something else, but I suspect that. I actually preferred rice milk. If it's mixed into something it would probably be ok.
  10. The cutie is 10 months old now, next oldest just turned 4, and my oldest will be seven in December. We are in the middle of homeschooling......what am I doing on here then? Oldest two are looking at something outside. They wanted to go swimming (in the kiddie pool). Not quite warm enough for that. I was wondering if I was in the wrong thread for...
  11. He'll either jump in or let us keep on running. I'm a boring person, really, don't do much. I like the board so I can talk to some "adults".
  12. I have nothing concrete with this, just thinking outside the box. Does anyone else recognize the gluten sensitive genes, or just enterolab? Could it be that those are also "celiac" genes that haven't been recognized since people don't have the positive bloodwork/biopsies. Dr. Fine has done a lot of work in this field, has anyone else? Just looking...
  13. Great news Danielle, on all counts!
  14. You easterners are having a lot of fun over here. I used to drink mocha's, became quite the habit. Never liked coffee, used to have only 1/2 hot of espresso in my mocha and quite that. I don't fit in over here (boohoo) but you guys are fun to read anyway.
  15. I can totally see that! Way to go The Dave! You keep her in line. Hey, Rachel, tell him "thank you" for me, for keeping an eye on you and your Racheling tendancies.
  16. Toni, Yes. If it doesn't have gluten, it has soy. If it doesn't have soy it has dairy. If it doesn't have dairy it has corn. Those 4 things are in practically everything!
  17. Yes, Kudos for The Dave keeping you from Racheling your ice cream. What a nice friend.....at least as far as we are concerned.....you may feel differently if he won't let you have your ice cream indulgence.
  18. Toni, You need to be gluten free for life, obviously. Personally, I would be soy free for life, since it damages the intestines also. My allergy doctor I see believes in getting the body to forget the intolerance. You would need to cut out all traces of whatever you need to eliminate for at least 2 weeks....I suggest 2-6 months. Then add one food...
  19. Can't you tell them you've been cancelled twice and set up a definate appointment? My husband surgery was postponed a week and since he had to take a day off without pay he asked that they book him for the next week. He was first one in, so they couldn't bump him.
  20. Stephanie, Have a great time on vacation. Planning is always tiring isn't it....not to mention taking stuff you can eat. Linda, Wow, you're making me tired and I haven't been up very long. Seth and I have been lazy the last two days. If you manage to train your dog to help with the laundry then can I borrow him/her to help pull weeds...
  21. Donna, Sounds like you and friend will have a great time on your vacation! Thank you for sharing your story with us. All things work out in the end. Now if we could just keep faith in that we'd be ok through whatever came our way. Easier said than done isn't it? I'm really feeling like I need a vacation, hubby too. If I get away down to California...
  22. GGGRRRRRR. That's probably what made my husband so sick. I don't remember if I told them about him being soy intolerant, but I thought I did. Of course, they poked through his vein and had to back the needle out so that could have been it also.
  23. That's all you need with everything else you little girl has gone through. Will keep you situation in my prayers.
  24. I would definately mention it. Who knows what all they use gluten in. I wouldn't think it would be in the anasthesia though. My hubby got nauseous after his anasthesia last week. He's not gluten intolerant though.
