  1. Molly, Ouch!!! I hope you don't get hurt any further before this wraps.
  2. Lynne, HUGS!!!!!!!! I don't know what to say. Everything seems trite.....not enough. Try and get some rest. Hopefully things will pick up starting tomorrow. That neighbor of yours sounds like a trip. Good to hear that Ashley's numbers came down. Hope those doctors can hammer something out and soon. I'm sorry I don't...
  3. Mandy, If you really suspect the excedrin then try dairy again next week and see if you feel the same. It would probably be best to cut out all dairy for 2-6 months and then reintroduce it and see how you feel. It may be that you would be able to have small amounts but not every day. I'm sorry you're feeling lousy.
  4. Burdee, I haven't seen chickpea miso. I bought a used copy of the uncheese cookbook but haven't used it. The size of the yeast flakes doesn't matter, they get blended up anyway.
  5. Thanks you guys. I'm tired, mainly because I stay up too late. I need to try and force myself to go to bed early and catch up on some sleep, then I'll be better as far as that is concerned. The hard part is it's Mitch's computer time til between 9:30 and 10, then my turn after that as far as the evenings go.
  6. If you have been diagnosed with Celiac (and it sound like you have), then you need to be 100% gluten free for life. Wheat, rye, barley and oats (unless you buy the exp uncontaminated kind) free. There are people who don't have obvious symptoms (and some are on this board) but are still doing damage. I am one that didn't have any obvious symtpoms before...
  7. How about some more recipes. Dream Cream Cheese from Guilt Free Gourmet by Vicki Griffin 2 c Blanced Almonds 2 Tb Emes Gelatin, unflavored 2 tsp Salt 2 Tb Lemon Juice 3 1/2 c Boiling water Blend until very creamy and smooth. Pour into bowl and chill until set. Cracker Barrel Cheddar from Guilt Free Gourmet by Vicki Griffin 1/2 c...
  8. These sound good! Do you live in Washington?
  9. Carla, Relax for me a little will you? I'm in a blah mood today. Kinda down. Off to start dinner and the baby is awake.
  10. Just an update on my dad. He was back in the hospital Wed. night with fluid in his lungs. They pulled out a liter of fluid. He expected to go home today. Mitch is doing good, but over did it yesterday. He's keeping quieter today.
  11. Yes you do need to use xanthum gum. I'm not sure about the amounts. For a regular gluten free bread recipe that I use it calls for 3/4 tsp. It varies from 1/2 tsp to 2 tsp. depending on what you're doing.
  12. I have a recipe thread I've started that has gluten, dairy and mostly soy free recipes. https://www.celiac.com/index.php?showtopic=23795
  13. Those ingredients look ok for gluten. Do you have any other allergies? Is there a reason you went off dairy? Aside from dairy (cheddar cheese, sour cream and whey) you have a lot of msg sources (msg, artificial flavor and citric acid, possibly color). The vegetable oil could be causing problems depending on what was used (possibly soy).
  14. Julie, You didn't miss a thing. Roxi = Roxicet Ana = Anasthesia
  15. Toni, I don't have anything to add. Please keep us posted on both enterolab and your other tests.
  16. Hi all! Mitch is doing much better today. He went of his drugs yesterday and hasn't taken any tylenol today. He has been feeling good and has an appetite again. This is basically a drive by. Very busy right now. Julie, I'll write later. Rachel, Your inbox is full. Edit addition by Mitch.....He says since...
  17. Yes, get tested for vitamin/mineral deficiencies. Sounds like it "could" be vit b12 for starters. Please have it checked out though, it may be something else. Also aspartate can cause lots of problems.
  18. I thought the Rice Krispes had malt in them.
  19. Spunky, I hear you. I was lacto-ovo for about 3 years, ovo for about 1, and vegan for another 3. I made my own gluten, bread, baked goods etc. Also went soy crazy and made my own tofu for awhile and tried making soymilk. I wouldn't be surprised if the amount of gluten and soy I was having set me off either. With my other intolerances it was impossible...
  20. No, you hadn't mentioned that that I've seen. That sounds great! Now instead of gluten, dairy and eggs, you can create a cookbook without those ingredients. Of course I'd love to see something that you create!
  21. That's great that your ped. is supportive of the diet. If I still had our old ped. (before we moved) then I'm sure she would have been fine with it too. My infant son (now 10 months) broke out with eczema when he was a little over 2 months old. That's how we started on the journey that led us to celiac/gluten sensitivity. See my sig. We used enterolab...
  22. I don't remember if I made that one before. I love cashews in a lot of things now. I have been buying store bought mayo with canola oil which isn't the best oil for you (depending on who you talk to ). I know cashews blend up really well since they are a softer nut. I was just looking through five loaves and newstart cookbooks. I don't have anything...
  23. Hi and Welcome! I don't know anything about diabetes and the restrictions thereof. I would like to help though. I don't have a loaf of bread in the house right now....but....we like Enjoy Life for store bought bread. My kids love that or Food for Life. How much sugar are you allowed to have per day? Enjoy Life has some good things but I believe...
  24. You are allowed to grieve. It's part of the process. Annalise Roberts has a good cookbook. She does use egg and dairy though. I don't eat any dairy myself and just sub that out. Egg could be replaced with egg replacer or other egg substitute. I think it's Lorka150 or something like that that has other replacements she uses. It's just a matter of getting...
  25. Kathy Ann, One particle does make a huge difference. I would definately eliminate all gluten flours. There are some good gluten free breads out there. I like enjoy life or food for life if I don't make my own. They are expensive though. Enjoy life is free from 8 allergens. Their sandwich bread is good and (I think) can be eaten without toasting....
