ARCHIVED Doctor Appointment Shocker
AndreaB replied to Ridgewalker's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Sarah, I'm not saying Ezra has lyme. Just keep it in the back of your mind if his symptoms don't totally resolve on the gluten free diet. Gluten can cause behavioral problems as well as metals (which my family is dealing with) and lyme. Our food intolerances have continued to grow, which alerted us to something else going on. Always start with the... -

Hope everything is ok tonight. Usually if there are aftershocks they are less than the original. Our last bigger quake up here was when Talitha was just over a year. I think it was 7. something. Caused a lot of damage to buildings in the city (Olympia) clear up to Seattle. -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Accuracy
AndreaB replied to JustMe75's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had the whole test panel ordered for my family. If you want to save money just get the gene test and try the diet. If you want something on paper (email) then order the full panel (I think it's $250-$350). I forget the exact amount. It includes the gene test. I think they are pretty accurate as far as your body's responses. If you have underlying... -

Sarah, I'm glad to read that Ezra is doing so much better on the gluten free diet. I have also heard about omega 3's and behavior. All my family was put on omega 3's 2 months ago. We don't have the funds to keep up with all the supplementation and have choosen to just try to keep on toxin binders. I did want to suggest the possibility of... -

ARCHIVED 15 Month Old Diagnosed Milk Allergy And Soya Intolerent!
AndreaB replied to getsetgo's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Lisa, Your son has had quite the go around with everything. I certainly wouldn't hurt for you to make his diet gluten, dairy and soy free. My family is free from those as well. My youngest will be 2 years next month. It is entirely possible that the formula's would cause a problem, the same as the liquid milks. Do you know if he tolerates... -
ARCHIVED Dairy Free And Egg Free And Soy Free (except For A Couple)

AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm glad you're feeling better this week. You had no way of knowing the tests could be negative, so please don't beat yourself up about it. I hear you about the chair shaped bottom. I just read about cell phones and children on Mercola's site. We had cell phones when Talitha was little. She used to 'talk' to her daddy on the phone all... -

That is interesting Laura. If lyme and coinfections are so much ignored you have to wonder how much of the blood supply would be 'contaminated'. That is sad.........for a 3 year old! I assume he had/has autism. -

I'm being lazy.......ditto what she said. What if her mother likes liver? -

AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
This wouldn't be too bad......still don't think you can disquise liver though. This would not be so good. I would think the pasta would help it go down......then again, maybe not. My wisdom teeth moved my straightened teeth back out of alignment on the bottom teeth. I'm not sure how long after I got braces off that that happened though... -

My parents always had liver and onions too. Seems like they may have had bacon too, but I don't really remember. I'd eat boxed Mac & Cheese or canned chili for dinner earlier than they were cooking so I could go hide in my room. Even with the door closed some of the smell seeped through. -

Your mom sounds like some of my stepsons. Hope you're able to get your glasses on Tuesday. Sounds like Sarah had some good ideas for you to try to disguise the liver. I don't think anything can disguise it, but you can always try. I don't know if chicken livers would help you or if it's just beef livers. My dad loved chicken livers... -

I wouldn't be surprised if you had some problems with metals as well as lyme. As far as liver.........I don't think you could ever get me to eat it. I always shut myself in my room when my parents had it. I never had to have it which was really good, because I would have gone hungry. YUCK!!!! I wouldn't be able to stomach it, and I can... -
ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm getting forgetful or something like that at times. Just this last week I put on broccoli in a steamer and didn't put water in the pan. I've also turned on the wrong burner......one time it was a 1/2 hour, when I went to check the meat, that I realized I had the wrong burner on. That's a lot! I have drowsiness, but that's mostly... -

These seem to be my main things.....not sure about the memory loss. Sounds like you're making progress, being sick aside. That's great that you had so much energy! -

AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I can't wait for your test results to come back......I can just imagine how you are with waiting. Yep, maybe you should have more of that salsa. Course, as you said, you may have been having a real good stretch at that time. We are planning on adding them back in, minus the soy. We did ok with the red beans in chili a few weeks ago. Going... -
ARCHIVED Biopsy Or Enterolab?
AndreaB replied to jessiU's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I agree with Rachel. The gene testing is good if you want to know that, but you already know gluten is a problem. It sounds like further testing needs to be done to see what is causing the pain you are having. I would go one step further than Rachel and suggest gluten, dairy and soy free if you aren't already off the last two. Most insurances don... -

AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I figured I'd better stay on the regime for 10 days, since that is common for antibiotics. I need to go off of stuff next weekend so I can see if this thing is gone before Seth's appointment on the 6th. Doctor will want a urine sample if not. I notice I'm a little worse during the mid-day as I haven't been real good about water drinking in the morning... -

Thanks for the update Ami. Sorry to hear about the morning sickness. Yay on the thumb pain being gone! That is great that you were able to take care of what you did before getting pregnant. As far as your son coming up on puberty, he's the right age. It's so sad that puberty is getting so much younger in children. Come by when you... -

AndreaB replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I'm doing much better. Seth's bottom is not, so I'm thinking he's reacting to something I'm taking to get rid of this infection. I did the cranberry juice with oregano oil 3x yesterday along with the pau d'arco the 2x (which I had already been on). Somehow, I suspect the oregano oil as the bothersome thing with Seth, but who knows, maybe it's unrelated... -

Hope all goes smoothly with the move. I'm just a tad bit impatient, since the reality of getting to meet you in person is much more real.
