  1. As I left this morning Lefty was staring fixedly at the vacuum cleaner in my room. I moved the thing a little mouse ran out (and into my heater(which is off)). Not sure what I'll find when I get home....
  2. We're pretty anti-spam here. I know it's a bit of a hassle for new members, but then, you don't log on and see 15 tennis shoe posts either...
  3. Youse guys is beyond redemption. You are 'pre approved' just so the mods won't be forced to read your posts.

ARCHIVED Gi Heals In 7-10 Days?

I think a normal intestine repairs itself very quickly, but a damaged one will not necessarily follow the same time course.
  5. I gotta change that Your body will tell you if brown rice is ok. Maybe try limiting it.... And things could take a while to recover. I had some milk in a latte after never drinking milk, and it took a good two weeks to get back to normal. The initial reaction was only one day, but my intestinal tract was haywire from the unexpected stress, and...
  6. Lyle has started sleeping on my computer chair, and he keeps body slamming my legs, presumably telling me to get out 'cause he wants to go to bed.
  7. My chicken feed is packed full of gluten. I wash religiously after doing anything with chickens, both because of the gluten, and the Campylobacter. My birds are penned (and the raccoons and coyotes are still hungry because of it) so I buy pellets. I don't have the time to mix a balanced feed, and because they are penned I think it would take a lot more...
  8. I didn't see any doctors about my illness. My boss, who's a pulmonologist, one day suggested wheat might be causing my problems. I spent a few hours googling, came up with gluten, and never looked back. I sent my PCP a note telling her what I had done, and how much better I felt, and she said "great! Keep doing that." I think the IBS treatment center...
  9. Chick feed has an antibiotic in it to protect the babies from Coccidiosis. I feed my chickens pellets from the feed store. Birds can carry some nasty bacteria, so your kids should be washing thoroughly after being around the chickens anyway.
  10. Have you tried keeping a food journal wherein you write down everything you eat, and every reaction you have so you can discover any connections, even those that happen days later?
  11. Shabby chic. It's the newest "thing" coming out of Fresno...
  12. Let's explore "gluten-free" a little more. Did you just cut out pasta and bread? Or do you read labels for the presence of anything that may have come from wheat, barley, or rye? No beer? No malt anything? Would you consider an elimination diet that removes not only gluten, but also soy, dairy (milk), corn, and eggs? Many people have emotional...
  13. I drink out often (but not a lot  ) and I've never worried about drinks that aren't made from mixes. I even tell the bartender things like "something with vodka, not too sweet" and get some surprise. I've had pumpkin martinis, plum martinis, margaritas with any number of additional alcohols, long island ice teas, infused something-or-other with...
  14. Oh fine. If Janet's doing laundry, I guess I could throw a load in as well.
  15. A journal is the thing to do. I don't know of anything better than what you are already doing. It's just a slow, tedious process.
  16. Convince him to come here, we'll get all the dirt on Mark
  17. Did I ever tell y'all the my backup plan -in case this science thang doesn't work out- is to move to Wales and be a shepherd?
  18. :o I would never have thought of this!
  19. I cleverly avoided having children and therefor have no need to ever grow up, or even get a real job. I think I'll stick with playing with expensive toys.
  20. Many many people get by without a highschool education..... If they can tie their shoes, and know to button up when it's cold, I say you're good to go. Give 'em a jar of peanut butter (the Costco size - just to show you care) and a ride to wherever they want to go, and you are on your way!
  21. Somebody would tell you if you something were wrong. It may take longer for your posts to get approved as we all get used to this system, please don't take it personally, we're trying to figure things out too.
  22. Throw those free-loaders out! Then use your energy re-vamping your new rooms into you personal "Mom the Goddess" shrine rooms complete with whirlpool and resident masseuse.
  23. Isn't this the feeling that precedes doing something amazing?
  24. I eat the same things I eat for dinner and lunch.
  25. Anywhere you think is appropriate. A diagnosis is not required.
