  1. I think this is the key. I get almost no CC. I don't eat processed foods and I rarely eat out. When I accidentally to get CCd I know within minutes, however, my reactions are very mild and only last an hour or so. I think your immune system dictates whether it will have a store of cells primed and ready to spit out antibodies, or whether it will clear...
  2. Has anyone ever noticed how a purring cat makes everything better?
  3. Gads Patti. Thank heavens you weren't carting a jug of pee around with you that day!
  4. I can't even imagine how you'd design the study, so I'll let you off the hook on this one...... Glad you're back!!
  5. Yeah, my mom liked it too. Right up until the week before her quadruple bypass when the surgeon told her he wouldn't do the surgery if she didn't commit to quitting because she'd be dead within a year and he wasn't going to waste his time. Pretty harsh. But the heart surgery was no picnic either. Neither was the second one. My mom had smoked for...
  6. I'm there, Peter. Got a couple choices for ya, and yes, I'll leave the pudding at home.
  7. That has to be the perfect revenge for having to save your pee for a whole week. I'm looking forward to hearing them on Car Talk .....so we had this, um, container leak....and, um, it was fine in the winter....but, um.....now that it's 95 degrees....um...
  8. It always takes me some time to get motivated, then, when I finally do, I charge through.
  9. I thought our goal was lack of gas...
  10. Bah! DOGPILE ON PATTI!!! .................... ^_^ .......... ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
  11. It's actually my knee after surgery. I tried to make it so close-up that it would be hard to tell what it was. I'm impressed that you could tell it was a body part!
  12. um... it's March in Seattle and it's snowing W.I.H???
  13. He was my study partner in grad school. We both brewed beer at home and on the rare weekend when we didn't have homework or tests we'd consume, oh, quite a bit of beer. He had been a hard core alcoholic in his youth and was still functional around three in the morning after we'd been drinking since 4 that afternoon. Eventually I'd pass out...
  14. Goose bowels! Yes we are. I was on a road trip with a guy who had goose bowels. It was the looooongest car ride I've ever been on. We had to stop every 1/2 hour or so, with very short notice. I tried to keep reminding myself that however annoying it was to me, it was far more unpleasant for him. Although it was entirely his...
  15. OK, apparently the rest of yas all have lives, but it's pouring rain here, and I have a bunch of work today, so I'm employing my favorite procrastination method - you guys. I'll just chatter on by myself for a while... Yesterday on the ferry I sat with a woman I only talk to occasionally and she invited me to join her commute group (we all travel in...
  16. My reactions are immediate, but quite mild. Not everyone's reactions get worse.
  17. Heinous. I'm sorry you're going through this. Hope it straightens itself out soon.
  18. I'm backing the Raven on this one. Sure, my chip has only 20 parts gluten to (almost) 1 million parts of whatever, but if I eat 100 chips, I've eaten 2,000 parts of gluten, regardless of how much whatever. All the number means is that you can eat more before having a reaction (assuming consumption within a short period of time, and 'short' will vary...
  19. Of course - what was I thinking??
  20. I'm gonna ask you to cite your sources for these.
  21. Emily! Was this you? Open Original Shared Link
  22. Those are beautiful! Nice job, Bev!
  23. Gosh. We have a big storm from Alaska headed toward us.
  24. I cowered in the middle of my bed yelling EEWWWW GET HIM! He was pretty near the end already... If the critter looks like a fresh toy, I try to liberate it. If it looks like they've been playing together for a while, I just stay out of it. I figure the worst has already transpired for the victim, and it's kinder to let the cat bring about the end...
