  1. Yes, thank heavens. I can still look like a tart, even if I can't eat one.
  2. Have you not been paying attention to my work posts?? D'ya think I could do this without alcohol??
  3. Is this something like setting out the cat carrier a few days early so kitty stops being frightened of it?
  4. I also would suggest you start the gluten-free diet. And get a different NP. Trader Joe's on Madison. Central Market in a variety of places
  5. Oh yes, the pressure to be funny. Lets see what's in my mailbox.... QQ plots.....no nerdly science stuff...already posted hmmm, guess I'll have to think about this as I finish off the 4 bottles of wine I need to consume before starting this nasty medicine on Saturday. And a bit of scotch Oh, and that last glass of rum Dang!...
  6. How much/how often was he taking it? He wants me to do 15mg one day a week.
  7. Brief whiny rant. Went to the dermatologist for a rash on my face. He said it's dermatitis that's exacerbated by my psoriasis. He wants me to start taking methotrexate (a cytotoxin) and stop eating sugar, carbs, and alcohol. So no more fruit, rice crackers, wine. Nothing that I can just throw in my backpack and take to work. Just what are you supposed...
  8. Just something to point out that this thread belongs in the medication section.... I had some huge nasty rash on my face and managed to get in to see a dermatologist. After getting a list of things I couldn't eat and couldn't put on my face, I asked about make up. He said "Loose mineral powders are fine. Just no creams or pressed powders." So...
  9. I read this as: Our neighbours behind us use an elderly Chinese couple... I was imagining a town where you employ people from other cultures to hug your tree. Is it that they're Chinese that's the key? Or that they're elderly? Or do you actually need the combination?
  10. Alright DINGOGIRL. I had a dream about you snuggling up to a cute blond curly haired boy. When I went to talk to him he was filling out his college application. So I'd like an explanation from you young lady - Just WHAT were you doing with that 18 year old boy!!!????!!??
  11. If you didn't get hurt, how do you know you had a good time?? (Anyone wanna vacation with me??? )
  12. Zen Judaism If there is no self, whose arthritis is this? Be here now. Be someplace else later. Is that so complicated? Drink tea and nourish life; with the first sip, joy; with the second sip, satisfaction; with the third sip, peace; with the fourth, a Danish. Wherever you go, there you are. Your luggage is another story. Accept...
  13. You mean other than knowing how proud your friends are of you for facing this challenge head on and sticking to it?
  14. Well, since we're all bumping the post... I've decided that for dry skin, the original glow or intensive is the way to go. The mattes were gone by the end of the day and left my skin all flaky. I used the natural blush the other day to try to minimize the orange of whatever blush I had put on (I don't have time to take it off and start over). It worked...
  15. Everything here is just theory. Red wine is unlikely to help your villi grow back faster, but if you enjoy it, and have no adverse reactions when you drink it, then you should have a glass with dinner. Maybe the pleasure alone will make you feel like you're healing faster.
  16. You'll get more answers during the week, a lot of people read the forum during work , but I like the Progresso soups. You'll have to read the labels to be sure, but the chicken and rice, vegetable, and split pea(or maybe it's lentil? or maybe both?) are gluten free. Some of the Wolfgang Puck soups are also gluten free.
  17. The current definition of Celiac Disease is villus destruction, which can also be indicated by antibodies to gluten or other things in your blood. Your villi look bad, and you have antibodies. It seems very likely that if you continue to eat gluten you will destroy your intestine. It's true that convenience is the biggest issue for some of us, but...
  18. uhhh, bean week? I can't eat them more than once in a while, and everyday would totally do me in.
  19. Oddly enough, I was just going to post this same thing. I don't measure, but note how my clothes fit. I've stopped weighing myself because it really only told me what I had eaten the day before. I'm trying to focus on food choices and amounts. I eat the right stuff (except for potato chips ), but I eat too much of them.
  20. From my parents: Subject: The older you get, the better you get *If you are not over 60, this is what you have to look forward to. 1. Kidnappers are not very interested in you. 2. In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first. 3. No one expects you to run--anywhere. 4. People call at 9 pm and ask, " Did I wake you ???? " ...
  21. That's what family is for. Don't spend one second feeling bad about it. Your mom's are happy that they're able to help you, just as you would be happy if the positions were reversed. My family sends money back and forth all the time. It takes the pressure off of life if you know you have a safety net. (crap, i just remembered that I owe my brother...
  22. I was going to include something like this in my response. Put the gluten free stuff away from gluten stuff to avoid these sorts of things (one end of table maybe). You could also use this as a subtle education process with a small sign near the gluten-free section reminding people that some people have food allergies and please avoid using a serving utensil...
  23. I'm so jealous. We don't have any fun natural disasters.
  24. I have one of those light switches too. Tell him not to pass on my number. and for you theramin fans: Open Original Shared Link
