  1. :( So sorry! As soon as you're feeling better, throw yourself another birthday. You can eat all the cake and ice cream you want - I give you permission.
  2. I like olive oil too. If you decide to try the tea tree oil, test a little bit first on a very small spot. If my skin is in a "reactive" state, TTO burns like %$$%&**^%!!
  3. This sounds like excellent advice. Go with the healthiest, most unprocessed diet you can, keep very careful notes about what you eat and any symptoms. If you can't find a better solution, then consider the steroids or immuno-supressants.
  4. I'm curious how many people stopped eating gluten because a child or spouse had to give it up, and subsequently discovered that you also felt better without gluten? (You can answer for your spouse too.) For those that discovered this, did you ultimately give up all gluten? Or do you just limit it?
  5. Safe more most doesn't mean safe for everyone. You will have to figure out something else. Perhaps just the wine, as Karen suggested.
  6.
  7. Hugs LoLo!! Glad you were well enough to go out and enjoy some time with your men. Here's a site to amuse yourself on when you're lounging about with your laptop. Open Original Shared Link
  8. My bro and his wife did a hard core elimination diet to try to determine if some food was causing his headaches. They went down to brown rice and chicken and added foods back slowly, monitoring all reactions. Neither of them had any problems removing gluten, or adding it back. My mom did a gluten-free trial for her heartburn - again, no difference removing...
  9. Glad you made it through to the other side.
  10. Nooo!! Progressive!!!! We go to everyone's house, picking up each person on the way, circling all the way back around dropping off each person. so Russel and I go to Cali, pick up Judy and Tom and Suze, we go to Kansas, pick up the midwesterners, we all go to Canada, pick up Em and Peter, head down the coast, etc ending up in NZ. Then y'all come back...
  11. And I'm back from........the kitchen. I had to say something
  12. If you're ready to give up doctors, trying the diet is the next step. It sounds as if you've had a couple indications already..... Welcome to the board! (oh, and if another MD tells you you CAN'T have something because you're African American - ask for the studies linking skin color and that disease/disorder. Your ethnic heritage may put you...
  13. They seem perfectly fine. The sunglasses are great, but I think the frame size I chose for the progressives was a little too small-it's a little harder to get the right position of my eyes. The first pair I got was just straight prescription, no tinting and no bifocals. I got them to take on vacation, since I didn't want to worry about breaking/losing...
  14. try Zenni optical. You have to know your prescription, and figure out a few things, like pupal distance, but prices start at about $10. I've gotten glasses there twice, this last time I got prescription sunglasses (no bifocal) and progressives. Total was about $55, and I got free shipping.
  15. While looking up some info about milk for a friend, I discovered several articles about how cows are made pregnant pretty much immediately after giving birth, and are milked all through their pregnancies. The amount of estrogen in the milk is nearly at the same levels as the amount in the cows blood. I wouldn't be surprised if the estrogen in the milk is...
  16. Even the few that may still be made from bread do not contain gluten. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link

  19. Is he taking supplemental iron? I used SlowFe with no trouble.
  20. I had the same question. I don't drink any type of milk, only use it for cooking.
  21. Read this as: "When you want to skip to a new line, you hit "enter" and say "sh!t" at the same time." .....it didn't work for me
  22. Should have said 'petroleum based', since that's what I meant anyway.
  23. This sounds pretty sensible. I think over-farming and inorganic fertilization has screwed up a lot of our veggies
  24. I am gluten and soy free, corn light. I make almost everything I eat from whole foods. A pain, but you do get used to it.
