    ARCHIVED I'm Back

wow. I'm sorry you're going through that. You've always seemed like a very nice and reasonable guy - I hope you're doing ok. We're always here for support and venting, when you need us.
  2. But they don't give you eggs. Took some sunflower seeds out (The BESTEST TREAT EVAH!!!) and spread them around. After many suspicious glares, the big girls came out. I hear an occasional SQWAAAAK from outside, but nuthin too terrible.
  3. I have integrated my chickens. Woke up in the middle of the night to go out and stuff the two big girls into the little kids' coop. They were not "zombie chickens" as the chicken forum promised, but were instead quite irritated at being woken up and dragged out of their little house. Nevertheless, I set them in the new coop and let them figure out the...
  4. or just piled them "neatly" in the corner of the bed so he can find them when he moves out.
  5. I guess I would go with your husband's plan. Enterolabs isn't widely accepted by physicians, and food allergy testing is inaccurate. Give him another month on gluten and retest. If it's positive, you have your answer, if it's negative, I'd still consider testing every year, especially if the anemia persists/returns.
  6. Ground beef, sun dried tomatoes and pineapple. (I made it up I'll let you know how it tastes.)
  7. I dunnno, I say screw the health response. They have no right to judge your choices, and you shouldn't have to feel like you need to qualify your life. You stay home because it works for you. Period.
  8. Did you put it in a toaster bag, or on foil, or use some other method to make sure it wasn't touching the metal racks that all the other toast touches?
  9. hmmm, I just looked up gastroparesis and the (one) reference I looked at said that a low volume, nutritious diet is best. Run your food through a blender and all that. You could skip the mashed potatoes and make yourself a smoothie instead.
  10. Isn't she around 13? She's getting to the point where you can't make her do anything. You can start explaining the benefits of eating certain ways, and refuse to support her eating poorly (don't buy her crap), but she needs to start making her own choices. If she doesn't want to eat something, she'll be hungry until she does.
  11. I'm not sure there is an average. Every person is different, and the time to heal also depends somewhat on how young you are when diagnosed, how damaged, how truly gluten-free your diet is, etc.
  12. As someone that works multiple days a week, I imagine that your "all day" is vastly different from mine, which consists of trying to catch up on chores while recover energy from working all week. Your "all day" seems like it would be one of feeling rested and not trying to cram as much housekeeping in as possible. I imagine you planning things, actually...
  13. The deli doesn't add bread crumbs to the chicken salad? The one near my house does....
  14. Back at work I see my dancing party icons in everyone's posts.... They're all from this site: Open Original Shared Link
  15. Are you doing lots of ab exercises? Exercising a muscle will build it, wherever it is........
  16. I'm just passing this on as a bit of information. Open Original Shared Link
  17. We really really hate to ban people. If you screw up a third time, you will be reminded, not warned. We only ban people who are truly spammers, or are trying very hard to break the rules. You can always petition Scott (Admin) if you would like them removed, but most people leave them as a reminder. Different forums have different rules, and a warning...
  18. Having pizza and beer for dinner. It's been one a those days...
  19. Bummer. Worked on the computer at work.
  20. How awesome is that?!?!?!?! Love when the unexpected turns out to be something good! :) :) :)
  21. I thicken sauces by: reduction corn starch potato starch amaranth instant mashed potatoes dried veggies cheese depending on what exactly I'm making. I like amaranth and corn starch for gravies, or ground dried mushrooms if it's a beef gravy.
  22. Why don't you just talk to them and explain the correct way to handle the gluten-free buns?
