  1. I went hiking, parked at a marked trail head. The website said the bridge was closed to traffic, only local traffic and hikers, park at the gate and don't block it. So I did. I came back, my truck is gone, and there's a guy pushing around a pile of rocks with a cat. He told me the cops had my truck towed, because it was a construction site. ...
  2. After I bathe, I'll tell you guys the story of how the forest service towed my truck, parked where their website told me to park, and the told me I had to figure out how to get of the forest on my own, and get the thirty miles to where they had the truck towed. Without water. or phone. in 80 degree temperature. I sent them an email
  3. I know, it's one more day. I'm kind of using all the stories to accept, and internalize all the sadness I feel for the people, for the innocence, for the soldiers and civilians in the wars afterwards. One more big hit of sadness, then I think I can let it go. People died not so we can exist, but so we can live. One more day, then smile, and laugh, and...
  4. It's their wedding, they tried to accommodate you, it didn't work out, they don't want you getting sick, so they picked a place that would let you bring your own food. It sounds like they're being more than reasonable. Find something tasty to bring with you and go have fun without fear of being ill. The restaurant should be able to microwave anything...

  6. I was home, between jobs. I usually lounged in bed for a while, then made coffee and started my day. For absolutely no reason, that morning I woke up and turned on the radio (NPR) and went back to bed. I was still sleep fogged and it took me probably half an hour to realize that something bad had happened, and it wasn't some war review program. I turned...
  7. Ten years ago this week, terrorist destroyed a lot of lives, and a little bit of property. Whatever country you are a citizen of, your world is now very different from what it was 10 years ago. In some ways, those of us that lived insulated lives lost some of the innocence and naïveté that we had. Share your experience, your fears, how you've changed, ...
  8. I don't know about the illegal drugs, but for the legal ones, they now work quicker and I need less. If you're going to continue to use ingested drugs, I think you should be extremely careful that you don't accidentally OD because you suddenly start absorbing things better. A better plan would be to stop using everything for six months (OK, forever, but...
  9. Lundberg with peanut butter and pickles.
  10. Yes. At least for a couple months. If you aren't convinced by then, add gluten back in, see if your symptoms change, then add dairy back in.
  11. But you'd have to anyway, to pay for their schooling. It's a brilliant design, really.
  12. But you gain a confident, beautiful, intelligent adult who (eventually) respects you and thinks you are wonderful.
  13. Trip to Spain Trip to New Orleans Trip to Turkey ......
  14. I get leg cramps if I do anything to upset my electrolyte balance (too much coffee, alcohol, etc). You could try having some sugary drink (ginger ale, 7-up, gatorade) before the wine and see if it makes a difference.
  15. Marinated flank steak, cooked on the grill.
  16. Having a great time at a two day class called "building a positive workspace". We answer questions in a workbook, then discuss them at our tables. I get to discuss answers like: "Does everyone in your work environment understand their job description?" with: "there are no job descriptions" and: "How are new people introduced to the working environment...

  22. I think three more posts to flip the page and make everything normal.
  23. Well, it wasn't, since there were several Psillie Psightings in the Poll Post.
  24. Well fine. I'll just go through my frig and see what I can find.
