  1. So sorry I know how hard it is to make the right decision for our furry babies.
  2. First rainy day with the wee chickies in their new pen. Those adorable feathered feet turn into little balls of mud. Sweetie-pie is on vacation and I won't be seeing him for three weeks (the longest time ever not seeing each other!). I was thinking this was a good thing because he's not the most expressive guy around, and if he really wasn't thrilled...
  3. Baby food, meat flavored. NO ONIONS OR GARLIC
  4. Imagine that little 'furry' butt sitting in your hand while her head rests on your forearm, happily snoozing.
  5. Mulberry does not fly. You need actual feathers for liftoff.....
  6. How sick do you get? If you can deal with the consequences, I'd say have a blow out, farewell to gluten weekend.
  7. <---- Mulberry, who survived the raccoon.
  8. My little boy crowed this morning!! I'm so proud of him.
  9. Bowl of mixed veggies with a chunk of fish.
  10. ooohhh. Can you bring her a hamburger you made yourself?
  11. Bowl of mixed veggies with a chunk of turkey breast.
  12. Say whatever works. Some people understand celiac disease, others, allergy, others "gluten issues".
  13. Because the world needs to know this...... Chickies are back in pen. Chicken litter swept out of house. Spent a while watching them yesterday to make sure Mulberry wasn't going to get picked on. It's quite a bit of fun. Read today on Backyard Chickens about putting a bug zapper in the pen so chickies have fresh barbecue in the morning...
  14. sauteed veggies and turkey breast
  15. Why would you even consider this? Why would any MD suggest you deliberately damage your child when you know it's an issue? Maybe he should just re-test your son's blood to make sure he's been really gluten-free.
  16. mullberry jumped out of her bin, on to the floor, and then in to my lap. i have her sitting on my hand with her head lying across my arm, snoozing.
  17. Or try Open Original Shared Link
  18. It's a herd. Cull the weak, and all that... Anybody wanna come chicken-sit? She'll be lonely while I'm at work.
  19. She needs to be in until she doesn't smell like blood, or the other chicks will peck at her. Saturday I'll put her in a pen in THE pen and let them all start remembering that they know each other.
  20. We all survived the night. I woke up a few times 'just in case' but never heard anything. The motion sensor light went on a few times (sorry neighbor!) but I never saw anything when I looked out the window. All looks fine this morning. Mulberry looks great. She's sitting on her crumbles, nibbling scrambled egg mixed with yogurt. I'm thinking three...
  21. Glad the hotdog worked out and I hope the heart's on the mend.
  22. I am frickin exhausted. Put hardware fabric (or something like that) all around the pen. Sewed it to the existing poultry netting with wire. Put poultry netting inside, under the plastic roof. And I've been up since 2. Realized I missed rehearsal and sent a note of apology. Would love to go to bed, but I need to wait until the chicks go in their...
