  1. I do not wish to debate this on the board beyond this response, but respectfully, they most certainly DO have the science - and lots of it. Mannatech is a network marketing research and development company with one of the best state-of-the-art research laboratories in America. Some of the largest companies in the United States, including many nutraceutical...
  2. The glyconutrient powder is gluten free, along with all of their other products. Great nutritional products well worth considering in my opinion. Lots of science. Just looked closer at your bio, though. The glyconutrient powder is in a base of rice starch. Might be a problem if allergic to rice? Some of their other items do contain soy and/or dairy...
  3. I can't have vinegar either. Can you make a really good ketchup and a mustard without vinegar? I miss them.
  4. Just called Hodgson Mills and they were very nice, but not especially confident that their buckwheat flour would not have any wheat residue. They go through a serious cleaning process, but all their flours are ground on the same stones. That seems pretty risky to me. Anybody using it successfully? I unfortunately called them AFTER I mixed up a nice bread...
  5. I personally think the reason the research is slow in coming is because there just isn't a lot of money to be made. Except for the discovery of a wonder drug that will honestly shut off the gluten intolerant gene without worse side effects, we celiacs aren't customers for much else once we have ourselves under control. The big drug and medical money demands...
  6. I can't have gluten, all dairy, eggs, soy, almonds, corn or yeast. High glycemic starches like tapioca, potato and arrowroot really make me gain weight. Brown rice flour and amaranth flour also make me gain weight, even when I eat very little of them. I've concluded that I apparently just need to remain completely grain free and low glycemic or I...
  7. Thanks for the replies! Yes, I am being as careful as I know to be. My kitchen isn't gluten free, but I live very carefully in it. I don't eat out, so if I'm being contaminated, it's something I'm doing wrong myself. I'm careful with all my cosmetics as well. I did all the extra testing up front and determined that besides gluten, I was also intolerant...
  8. Posted this early this morning and haven't gotten any feedback. Does anyone have answers to at least the question about the possibility of test results being wrong? Appreciate it.
  9. One year ago I was 'diagnosed' through Enterolab tests, saliva tests and an ELISA test. I have two genes, plus mild malabsorption and showed active antibodies - everything. I also tested sensitive to casein in all of the above tests, along with several other major foods. I didn't have a biopsy because I had been gluten free for many months before I knew...
  10. I'm so sorry you are experiencing this. Panic attacks truly do feel as though you are dying. And nobody but fellow panickers can ever know what that feels like. Please don't be embarrassed. Panic attacks can be absolutely awful. Please know that there are many of us out here who do know exactly how you feel. If it's honestly panic disorder, you aren...
  11. Yes, I took an ELISA test a year ago and strictly avoid everything I reacted to. Interestingly, I also was sensitive to cane sugar, but I don't eat any. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is one food I am not aware of that's still 'poisoning' me. That's just how it feels. Thanks for the ideas.
  12. Mine are primarily skipped beats. I have only rarely had an accelerated heart rate. I've worn the holter meter a couple of times and they never found anything they were concerned about. I know that pvc's are mostly harmless. They just FEEL so bad. I'm still testing the chocolate. Even if it's not the main reason, it maybe is enough stimulant to tip...
  13. Are these blood and urine tests primarily? Are these prescribed tests by a doctor or do you order them yourself? I didn't like the sound of the spinal tap suggestion. What is the treatment if a person DOES have lyme disease? Thanks...
  14. Thanks. I've had many full thyroid panels done. It never shows up as anything. I'm experimenting with eliminating chocolate starting today. It will certainly be ironic if it ends up being that easy. With so many allergies, I was excited to still have chocolate. But if it will stop these palpitations, I'll give it up in a 'heartbeat'. (pun intended...
  15. I have palpitations and dizziness and feel jittery and anxious. According to my doctors, it is not heart related and I have no other diagnosed illnesses. We've really tested for a lot of things. Bloodwork is always good. Everyone's first thought is that it is from stress. I do have stress. But so does everyone else. There is nothing I am struggling...
  16. Thanks! I ended up calling them and talking to a chemist at NOW foods. It is true that ALL gelatin is hydrolized. He also agreed that ALL protein supplements or predigested processed foods containing protein are actually hydrolized. He said that there are a few people who are extremely sensitive to the free glutamic acid produced in that process, but...
  17. One more question.... I just purchased NOW bulk plain beef gelatin online to use in natural desserts and as a binder to replace eggs. I don't use Knox because of the pork. The label says nothing about being hydrolyzed. Did I waste my money? Is there free glutamate in this product?
  18. Interesting deception. Is there no way then to fortify things with protein safely if you can't tolerate eggs or dairy or soybeans? It sounds like all protein powders no matter what they were made of would have this MSG issue. Thanks for the information. I have become increasingly convinced that completely natural, vine ripened, raw or lightly cooked...
  19. My family has been invited to a distant relative's formal wedding and dinner reception. It will probably be pretty fancy. I am really not comfortable trying to call them and explain my gluten/dairy/egg/soy intolerances and why I would need different food. I don't think caterers can be as accomodating as restaurant chefs anyway, since everything is done...
  20. I wonder if we are interpreting this all correctly. I thought pea protein was merely another alternative type of convenient protein powder made out of ground peas that could be used by people with a lot of other protein allergies like soy, egg, whey, etc. Kirkman is a respected vitamin company for serious allergy people and they sell pea protein powder...
  21. I'm confused by what your doctor said. Blunted villi may be common like he says, but it certainly IS a big deal. Like Ursa Major said in another post, blunted villi means you are not assimilating nutrients. That's certainly life altering. What are all of these other supposed things that can cause blunted villi? Why doesn't he think it's merely celiac...

    ARCHIVED Dr. Fine From Enterolab

Anybody know Dr. Fine's speaking itinerary? Sure would like to hear him, but I'm not close to any large metropolitan areas.
  23. I never eat out anymore. I'm just too sensitive, with too many allergies. But my family has been invited to attend a special group business 'thank you' dinner during a convention in a couple of weeks. In that huge city, guess where they chose to take all of us.....The Spaghetti Warehouse. I looked up their menu online and there honestly isn't a single...
