  1. Would someone please list all the ingredients in Smart Squeeze? Thanks!
  2. I make a nice caramel by substituting organic coconut milk for the cream and extra virgin coconut oil for the butter in a normal caramel recipe. Works for me. I've used agave syrup in that recipe successfully too.
  3. Before I found out I was intensely intolerant of dairy, I enjoyed adding a tablespoon of Carlson's lemon cod liver oil to 8 oz. of plain yogurt, along with a packet of Stevia Plus (or some other acceptable sweetener). It tasted like a wonderful lemon pudding! Honestly. It may sound bad, but it's actually really good! I miss it.
  4. We need a tranquilizer that doesn't contain gluten, soy, corn, dairy or eggs. Just found out xanax has cornstarch and maybe lactose. Can we have one compounded if there aren't any ready-made ones? Anyone have some quick information on this? Thanks!
  5. I don't want to get off the main subject of this thread. But I can't believe I finally found somebody else who DIDN'T have a successful gluten free, allergy free cruise. Many other people on this board have very successfully gone on cruises and had wonderful experiences. Mine was awful, at least in the area of food. I realize that cruises are a great...
  6. I'm allergic and intolerant of several major foods besides gluten. Shortly after diagnosis, I went on a cruise for business. I naively brought along a list of the 7 main foods I couldn't have. I also was too shy and embarrassed to give them the whole list. When I handed the list of 7 to the Maitre D he shook his head and said, "That's too many!" and handed...
  7. I will be taking a trip that involves flying. I take digestive enzymes every time I eat. Do airport Xray machines destroy the enzymes in those supplements? How about in probiotics? I take those too. Are the Xray machines for the take-on stuff milder than the ones for regular luggage? I haven't flown for a year. Last time I tried taking an entire...
  8. Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I am also allergic to almonds! I have used coconut flour in some things. I think it might get pretty gummy as well. Maybe I will just have to start over with another recipe. Thanks again!
  9. I have a favorite chocolate cake recipe that I have tinkered with until I got it just right for my tastebuds. I have A LOT of food intolerances. Recently I believe I am reacting to the caffeine in chocolate and now must avoid cocoa too. What would be a cup for cup substitute for cocoa in my cake so it will still come out right in consistency, etc.? I...
  10. It is not as likely that we would be glutened by a mere odor or aroma. But walking down the grocery store flour aisle is somethng else entirely. Flour dust can easily remain suspended in the air for quite awhile from the shelf just being freshly stocked or customers dragging the bags across the shelf and into their carts. Little poufs fly everywhere. ...
  11. Hodgson sells several alternative flours and grains, but when I called them they were definite about the fact that they could NOT guarantee that anything was gluten free. They were very nice about it and talked freely to me, but made no bones about their inability to assure me concerning the potential gluten content of their products. Since they also grind...
  12. I have the C6180 too. It works fine, it's fast and the print quality is good. But there is one piece of information that you should know that I had to find out the hard way. I was advised at the store when I bought the machine to buy the HP Photo Value Pack which has all 6 of the new "02" ink cartridges in one pack along with some 4X6 photo paper sheets...
  13. I agree that more than enough has been said. But to answer the last question asked of me... The wonderful thing about the Internet is that you can say anything you want. The terrible thing about the Internet is that you can say anything you want. Truth and lies are on equal footing on the Internet and no one is held accountable. It is one glorious...
  14. Ambrotose doesn't have 8 of the necessary 'sugars'. It has 10. Mannatech's patent took 10 years of investigation and intense scrutiny by our government before it was granted. They would never have been given a patent of this magnitude if these sugars were available as a supplement from anyone else. And they certainly would not have been given a patent...
  15. I have no experience with Neutrogena. But I was just wondering. Is there some reason to not just move on to other companies? Unless they have something really special over everyone else's products, they honestly sound like they don't need/want our business. They don't sound very professional.
  16. I agree! Pocono Cream of Buckwheat is a wonderful substitute for hot oatmeal for breakfast. I love it! It also comes from a pretty reliable company, Birkett Mills.
  17. Thanks for the replies concerning thyroid. I've been checked frequently, even with very sensitive blood tests by a hormone specialist and saliva tests by a naturopath. It always comes back perfect. My temperature is nearly normal and not remarkably low. And my weight is not distributed in the typical hypothyroid pattern either.
  18. Hydrogenated fats are considered a major player in our generation's unique problem with plugged arteries. Hydrogenation is done for only one reason, to make a liquid fat into a solid one, artificially. And that is only for a perceived convenience in baking and to compete with butter or other naturally saturated fats in the marketplace. Margarine became...
  19. Losing weight has always been difficult for me. It seems to have nothing to do with how much I eat or how little I eat. Within my gluten and other allergy limitations, I've tried lowering carbs and several other obvious techniques. But it won't budge. Even moderate exercise doesn't seem to impact it. Anyone tried anything innovative that worked in stubborn...
  20. Welcome to the board! I appreciated how well and concise you stated your history. Great job! Neurological celiac is difficult to track down. I am a big fan of Enterolab. There have been so many people who were misdiagnosed and miserable until they discovered Enterolab.
  21. Isn't it a shame when some people just aren't sensible? I'm so sorry that the man you know was so wrong in his sharing about glyconutrition. Do you see how he has misinformed you? It makes me bristle too. If he is actually making bogus claims and the company knew of his behaviour, he would be warned/disciplined and even let go if he refused to comply...
  22. I'm sorry. I wasn't meaning to be vague about my connection with Mannatech. I am an independent associate with Mannatech. I am not a corporate employee of Mannatech. I don't personally know anyone on this board and have no personal financial interest or gain in anyone here purchasing Mannatech products. I'm just trying to be helpful and correct misinformation...
  23. I sincerely apologize if anyone has made inflated claims to you concerning Downs Syndrome. The company FIRMLY makes no claims for any specific disease situation. These are nutritional supplements and soley meant to reinforce the body's natural repair responses. However, because at least 37 parents of Downs children have officially reported vast improvements...
  24. One other time on this board somebody recommended Carbocaine as being fairly free from everything (I have multiple allergies). I just had an extremely deep filling and crown done. Seemed to go well using Carbocaine. I also chose the plain pumice for teeth cleaning. Choose plain dental floss and I agree on the unpowdered gloves. My dentist was very accomodating...
  25. I promised not to debate this further, but it is difficult to let this go without one more reply. Please forgive my briefly going against my former intention. I looked at the website provided. I am wondering about the medical or research credentials of the person expressing such inflammatory opinions and is he/she someone we can be confident has honest...
