  1. I used Enterolab for my daughter. Also a new one is Kimball Genetics.
  2. Hi everyone. My daughter who has tested positive through enterolab has been on a gluten free and dairy free diet. I started her full time along with my son and I after she started having this angry, depressed, crying emotional thing going on. Then she improved and started feeling good again. Then, another birthday party to go to and of course they always...
  3. Breakfast: Namaste Gluten free pancakes OR scrambled eggs OR a "bird nest" - ener-g Rice bread with hole cut in the middle and egg cooked inside. Lunch: Usually leftover dinner from the night before OR Grilled cheese using Ener-G bread and goat milk cheddar. Snacks: Cut up grapes, carrot sticks, Envirokids Koala Crisp cereal, rice cake with almond...
  4. I will say that a lot of dr's and pediatricians are ignorant on this subject. I would definately stick with your mommy instincts and do what makes your child feel best. Go ahead with the other allergy test just to see what is going on with the other foods. Or you could do the elimation diet and eliminate the top 10 allergy foods and then re-introduce one...
  5. It is very common as you will see here on this site. ONce your body goes into that allergic reaction mode - other intolerances pop up. These may or may not get better once her gut heals. It depends. Best thing is to go without the eggs for 2-3 weeks and then re-introduce (if you are not sure) once more. If it happens again you know its eggs. That's...
  6. Once I diagnosed myself through dietary changes (no good luck with dr's.) and my son was diagnosed through Enterolab, I ordered the Enterolab genetic, gluten, and dairy test for her. She had poop problems as a baby but the only issues she has right now are pain in her joints. I sort of tested this theory in July - which is when I discovered myself and...
  7. I am sorry! I have heard of this happening and can not believe it does! It is terrible. My advice would be to keep records galore. No matter what happens at court. I would still keep records. You never know what your husband might do next! That way you don't have to scramble. I would also get a lot of information together, print it out, about how...
  8. YES, Gluten and dairy and other food intolerances DEFINATELY pass through the breast milk. This is something I don't think doctors are much aware of. I NEVER had a doctor advise me on this, I just happened to find out by talking to a clerk one day in the store. She told me the story of her daughter and how they figured out that dairy bothered the baby...
  9. Thanks so much! It's hard for her to see the connection because she doesn't have any intestinal symptoms, nothing immediate. She has some pain in her joints and some emotional stuff. I am trying to talk to her about it without scaring her. I will try those oreos.
  10. Anyone have any advice on starting my 6 year old on gluten-free diet. She is already in an "emotional state" right now (i think from gluten) and now that I have told her that she can't have the oreos the coach passed out after soccer game today, she is very upset! Also, she is going overnight to a BD party in a month. What to do about that?
  11. The allergy foods may be causing his weight problems. At least that was the case for my son. I know its very hard when they are picky and won't eat! Could you try some "alternative" crackers, pizza, etc. so he still thinks he's getting the real thing, but without the gluten? Curious as to why you are waiting to get him on the diet. Can you give him some...
  12. I guess I could be wrong. I thought that is what I read, but maybe they were talking about grains OTHER than rice. I always thought avacado to be hypo allergenic. I do agree with breastfeeding (formula) for the first year.
  13. Does anyone know what this means? My daughters enterolab test shows 35 units (normal <10).
  14. I discovered me all by myself. The dr's couldn't figure out what was wrong because my symptoms were so out of norm. My aunt is celiac and when I made the connection (not by her - she thinks you have to have diarreah!) and went researching on this site mostly, it clicked. I immediately went gluten-free. That is when it also clicked about my son who is...
  15. Here is what I have been doing: Breakfast: Namaste pancake and waffle mix. Make the whole bag and frigerate or freeze for the rest of the week. Eggs and gluten-free bacon. Rice bread for toast. Lunch: I pack leftovers Dinner: I watch Rachel Ray 30 minute meals to get ideas. Then I change as needed to fit our dairy free, corn free, gluten free...
  16. I got my enterolab results for my daughter who is 6. She has: fecal antigliadin IGA 74 (normal range <10 unitsl) Fecal antitissue transglutaminase IGA 35 units (<10 normal range) fecal anti-casein iga antibody 50 units (normal <10) HLA-DQB1 HLA-DQB1 (copies of gene from both parents) serologic equivalent : HLA-DQ 3,1 subtype Does anyone...
  17. It takes about 1 year for the gut to heal on a gluten free diet. The gut has to heal before he can start tolerating any of the allergy foods. I would have a complete allergy panel done by enterolab. Get all the allergies OUT and give him time to heal. That's my 2 cents! My little one who is 2, also weighs about 21 pounds. It wasn't until I discovered...
  18. it takes approx 1 year for your gut to heal on a gluten free diet. For me, I don't like to mess around and I don't care if my pediatrician heard of enterolab because he ignored me everytime I talked of my sons poop problem. I took it upon myself, ordered the test, and handed him the results. THEN he took the time to go on the website and learn. He agreed...
  19. My naturopath Dr. Told me that Babies actually develop the enzymes to digest meats BEFORE grains. In fact, when I found out I had this gluten problem, I learned that the Chinese have a very low rate of it and they hold off feeding children Grains (including Rice) until about 2 years old. This gives the child's body an opportunity to develop properly to...
  20. There is an herb that was recommended to me by the lactation consultants I saw while breastfeeding. I am trying hard to remember the name. I will fill that in later. You need more calories and fat in order to produce. Can you do olive oil? Coconut oil? Why do you choose canola oil? Isn't that made from corn (high risk of allergy). Can you avacado...
  21. I have been gluten free since around first of July. I am doing much better but I am still tired all the time. Some times are worse than others. I went off dairy for a short time, but am back on it - very little bits. Today, for lunch I ate leftover gluten free pasta with gluten free sauce and ground beef. I have been soooooo tired since. I could go...

  23. If its an ear infection, try soaking some garlic cloves in some olive oil. After about 20 minutes, drop some drops of the olive oil in your ears. Do this 3 x per day. Works Great!! and Fast!! I use it on my kids too. April
  24. I think it varies between people. I have gotten to where if I am not sure of a food, I can just eat slowly and I will feel the reaction come on. Therefore, I stop eating immediately, where as if I had downed a whole plate - I would really feel bad. All that gluten has to work its way through your system so the more you eat the more has to work its way...
  25. When I had gluten in my diet, I had wierd muscle twitches, the worst being the muscle right under my eye involuntarily twitched for months. I though it was a mineral depletion so I started taking vitamins and minerals, which only helped on occasion. Now that I am gluten free, its gone. I would say if the gluten free helped him, you definately need to...
