  1. My doctor always tells me that it's okay for things to get worse before they get better. Once you've finally allowed for the body to heal, it begins the process of flushing all the ickies out
  2. Yes, marcia! That's what I'm saying. Food aversion therapy. Once you eat something and get violently ill, you're not so likely to try it again any time soon. I'm still very frustrated though. ARgh.
  3. I eat a TON of the Thai Kitchen rice noodle bowls (Mushroom flavored is my fav). By a ton, I mean usually one for breakfast every day. I just checked out their website because my grocery store cannot keep up with my consumption, and they don't have a very large selection, either. And I thought it would be awesome if I could order direct from the manufacturer...
  4. RiceGuy, my doc and I had this same conversation after he dismissed my whole gluten theory in a way that made me feel like I was an insane hypochrondriac. A positive dietary response is good enough - just because my bloodwork which was done incorrectly because he's incompetent came back negative doesn't mean I'm going to eat a dozen bagels and wash it down...
  5. I have what I call my OCD journal, in which I write everything I eat, and how I feel all day long (back pain, brain fog, extreme crankiness, etc). Including any exercise, medications (how much and what time). This is in hopes that a few months down the line some strange pattern will emerge and I'll realize that I'm allergic to Snickers bars or situps...
  6. Yeah...I'd like to know for sure. But then again, I don't really want to know, either... It's just so frustrating when you have all these weird and seemingly unrelated things going on with your body, and there's really no way to separate them! Argh.
  7. Jennifer - I don't think Earthfare carries Kinnickckinioninkn crusts, but I will definately doublecheck. The only thing I really looked at were the frozen foods - and the Amy's pizza was at least $1 more than it is at Earthfare. It's a really small store! And I have a mildly hilarious personal reason as to why I try not to go in there! What's the deal...
  8. I've been gluten-free for about 2 months now and I've definately seen improvement. But not a LOT of improvement (comparing now to the first week I was gluten-free which was like a dream). I've been trying to decide if maybe I have other intolerances or allergies or anything and I'm wondering if I should get some tests done. I mean, with a positive dietary...
  9. I have a pizza stone. And while it takes longer to cook than a "normal" frozen pizza, it usually works pretty well. (And I got it at Bed Bath & Beyond for like $20)
  10. I'm pretty sure I ate a box of those a few weeks ago. And they were delicious. And I didn't have any noticable symptoms. But I'd hate to tell you they're okay only to have you get sick! Granted, my body is still all sorts of confused and there's no telling how many culprits are out there. The tomato herb ones were good, too.
  11. Hey!! Please? Someone? I just made one a while ago - 425 for about 12 minutes. Good, but it could've been a bit crispier. I am so hysterically excited to eat normalish pizza that I'm making another one shortly (hey. they were the 7inch personal pizzas. And I deserve it!) Do I make the temp higher or lower or leave it the same but in for longer? Even...
  12. Okay, so I lucked out and found a store VERY nearby that carries them (Turtle, Rosewood Market on Rosewood across from Publix if you didn't already know). But I can't seem to find any directions on the package. So. Since I've been full of stupid questions, what temp do I bake them at? And I can only assume that you don't prebake - just put the toppings on...

    ARCHIVED New Dr.

Screw that. Keep looking for a doctor who isn't completely incompetent. If your KIDS don't even want the chance to eat delicious "normal" food again...well that speaks for itself. (Not only are they extremely smart kids, but they obviously felt extremely bad before going gluten-free.) A positive dietary response is enough for me!
  14. So. I actually found a store nearby that carries the Kinninnickininidskjkl;j crusts (what a silly and completely unspellable name. hence the failure of my google searches), and so I went today and bought some! And so since we're on the subject of blatantly obvious pizza questions... It says nowhere on the package at what temp to bake. I assume no prebaking...
  15. The first time I emailed them I inquired about gluten-free items as well as their nutritional info. It was taken down from their website months and months ago. All they said in their response was that they were working on getting it back up and that it was a program, not a file, so they couldn't send it to me. Thanks for my patience. Completely disregarded...
  16. Yay! I'm not the only one.
  17. Moe's is like a semi-fast food Mexican place. (It's set up like Subway, but with Mexican food.) They've opened up a lot of restaurants recently in Columbia, SC adn I used to be one of their biggest fans before the whole gluten-free thing. So I had been hoping that Moe's would be okay for me to eat like a naked burrito because I'm fine with Qdoba everytime...
  18. I used to eat way too fast. It was as if I was afraid the food would disappear! I eat much slower now (timewise - I was eating while at work last nite and dinner lasted a good two or three hours), but maybe I'm just not chewing as much as I should be? It's something that's been on and off for years, so I suppose I'll just keep monitoring it and see if going...
  19. I'm 24 and I self-diagnosed about two months ago. When I was about 18 I had a blood prick test that said I was sensitive to wheat - not intolerant. Granted I had just moved out on my own and was eating macaroni and cheese an average of twice a day. No wonder I felt so crappy all the time! I've had stomach problems since my teens at least. But I've finally...
  20. Okay, so I find myself on occassion passing undigested food. (That's a nice way of putting it) Most frequently it happens with a salad or something like that. What does that mean? Thoughts? -Courtney
  21. red bull - both regular and sugarfree are gluten-free. jager as far as i've read on here multiple times is also gluten-free. (i hope. because i drink a lot of them now!) i'd say you're good to go~ -Courtney
  22. I have been working in the hospitality industry for many years, and I wouldn't trust talking to just the server. And in most restaurants it is difficult to pry the chef from the kitchen, if only because they are busy running the line. (But also because chef's are rather cranky by nature.) So from the restaurant's point of view, PLEASE don't come in on a busy...
  23. Mellajane, Are the 'foods by george' pizzas frozen? I should invest in a chest freezer. And then perhaps a house in which to put my new chest freezer...ahh, renting. You know you've got it good when the washing machine doubles as counter space!
  24. What about the Chebe mix? I've heard a lot about it and I was thinking about ordering some to try. Is it easy to make? No, munchkinette. No Whole Foods. I should BE so lucky. I'd settle for ordering stuff online. Suggestions? Guhlia, I forsaw the drippage problem, but was powerless to stop it. It did make me laugh a little bit, at least. Unfortuntely...
  25. I've had no problems with Barq's rootbeer. I wonder if Sprecher rootbeer is gluten-free. YUM. Fancy glass bottles!
