Foggy mind, what is and what helps it?

 

Foggy mind:  Here is what it means to me at various times, and in varying degrees.

 

Pressure on my forehead under my eyebrows.

A swirling feeling.

It makes it hard to feel like making decisions.

I feel like I can't think, but yet I can remember things and can learn for academics..

I feel like staring straight off into space looking at nothing.

A spinning feeling.

It makes me feel anxious.

 

What helps:

 

Sometimes a nap.

Sometimes more activity.

Eating.

Drinking coconut water.

 

I think this is with drawl from buckwheat symptoms.

 

Any more tips, or descriptions,

I just can't seem to cut the fog.

You pretty much described me in a nutshell. I might add that it happens so rapidly...sometimes mid-conversation with someone. And YOU realize immediately what is happening, knowing the other person can not understand why you have all of a sudden "zoned out" and are not able to complete a sentence. I have no advice though. I generally have to sit/lay down until it subsides...

The fog lifted, yesterday, in the afternoon as I was potting seeds.  But I am not implying this is a treatment.  Until the next time, it is gone.

I got my 1st soy fog this week. Pretty similar to a gluten one for me.

I lose the sense of ever being able to achieve anything in the future.

I feel like something is pushing me back on my chest.

I stare blankly at walls. Daytime tv is as much as I can handle. Even that seems taxing sometimes.

I can't file or organise. Bills pile up even if I can afford them.

My good news is that this only happens a couple of days a month, when testing foods for reintroduction and finding a no. Previously I lived months at a time like this. I am taking back my life, and doing things I thought were gone forever.

If I can just convince myself I have to wait it out when it strikes it would be even better.

Diana, glad you have come through.

I might tell my husband I need time in the greenhouse next time :)

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

      We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
