Looking For A Good Probiotic

What is a good probiotic.  I am trying to heal my body and heard that a good probiotic would help.  I developed tonsil stones this past year and read something about intestinal cleansing and that probiotics are a good start.  Thanks.

I really like the Go Live brand. It's a prebiotic and probiotic mix. I use the flavorless powder packets and mix them with juice, but they also have different flavors. It's really expensive, though (about $30 for a box of 30 at Whole Foods in the U.S.).

i use culturelle - the only one i've tried so far and it works well.  i am going to 'mix it up' after awhile and try different strains, though :)

Thanks Greenbeanie,  Do these have to be refrigerated?  I heard that a good probiotic should be kept in the refrigerator.

The Go Live packets don't need to be refrigerated. I tried a few different kinds before these , both refrigerated and unrefrigerated (I forget which brands, unfortunately). I eventually settled on these because I wanted a prebiotic as well as a probiotic, and someone had recommended L. Glutamine to me, which is in these packets too. I had also heard that refrigerated ones are better, though, and I wasn't sure how much it mattered. All I know is that these little guys are definitely doing something in there - for the first week my tummy sounded like a washing machine with all the gurgling! I took that as a sign that something new was going on.

Thanks.  I will give them a try.

VSL#3 has all the right cultures, another option is make Kefir, Sauerkraut and generally as many other cultured foods as you can and eat/drink them instead

Whole Foods 365 brand has a good probiotic too.  It's free of all the top allergens.  It's "recommended" refrigeration, but not required.

I found this yesterday in the newspapers, I plan to buy them, look better then any other I've seen.

if you buy one you get the other for half the price, basically 40$ before taxes and shipping for 4 months of very good probiotics.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?

Thankyou so much for your words. Its a hard battle when a supposed well known hospital whose celiac " specialist " has down played me because my colon looks fine and put it in my medical and so pcp doesn't take seriously. In their eyes we all carry that gene.Im having alot of bad days trying to be positive because of it.
