Canyon Bakehouse Mountain White

Thought I'd write to warn everybody. The healthfood store had some yesterday so I thought I'd try it. It is NASTY!! It has that same bitter smell and taste that the Ener-G bread has. I can't get the aftertaste out of my mouth no matter how many times I brush my teeth. Maybe it's the tapioca that makes it taste so bad. Their 7-grain is my avorite bread but from now on if I want white bread I'll be getting Udi's.

Wow! Sounds awful! I'm glad that I never bothered trying it. I've only tried the 7 grain and the cinnamon raisin.

I don't get the white bread, but I have tasted it.  It sounds like that loaf may have gone bad.  Perhaps it was left thawed too long?  YOu should notify Canyon Bakehouse - they would want to know.  Really they would.

I wrote to them this morning. The bread was frozen and they didn't have any last week so unless it came from Colorado already bad it was relatively fresh. I took the two unopened loaves back this morning and exchanged them for the 7-grain. The opened is going to feed the birds (if even they will eat it.)

I agree  with Kareng  something  was wrong. Canyon Bakehouse  is  a  very good  company...& I too  like  the  7 grain. & their  burger buns...

I know Canyon is a good company. That's why I was so disapointed. I thought if the 7-grain was so good the white would be great too. Maybe it's just me. Like I said, it was frozen and just in to the store so I doubt it had gone bad. Could be I just a strong aversion to the taste of tapioca in bread, but honestly, I can't even stand the smell. The texture is different but the taste (and smell) are just like the Ener-G tapioca bread.

I don't like  any  white  bread  so I know  we wouldn't like it ... Maybe  they got a  bad ingredient  too....recalled maybe since the  store  was  out!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
