Does anyone know of a gluten-free plain sausage (not flavored, so no apple or Italian)? I need it for a rice stuffing recipe, it can be pork or turkey sausage. Thanks!

I love Han's Chicken Sausages. Read this thread: I list which are NOT gluten-free...

When I used to eat meat, I'd make my own turkey sausage. Just so I could be sure what was in it, and because most premade seem to have stuff I can't eat or don't want. Like yeast - they seem to put that in everything. Then there's sugar, and preservatives, and too many spices...

I like homemade...so nice to know how to cook my own stuff. It just takes too long! :(

Second vote for Han's! They rock! I like the chicken/apple and the chicken/spicy italian. :)

We use Premio. (Not sure if you mean breakfast sausage or sausage that you would use for entrees). This is sausage that I had to gluten-free pasta : )

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
