Good morning, all! I have recently started taking Xyzal. I took it a number of years ago and it worked well for me, so when it went over the counter, I decided to try it.  And I have felt off this entire week.  I had only one other incident that I could have been "gluten" (flavored K-Cup that is just labeled with natural flavors), but since I am only intolerant, usually within 48 hours of being glutened I feel better. I am DRAGGING today. 

I went crazy on a Google search trying to find out if Xyzal is gluten free. I have run into a lot of things. Some sources say yes it is. Most other sources say nothing.  The big long gluten free med list (PDF) online, which was updated in April 2017 (a week ago actually) does not list Xyzal as gluten free, so I'm now distressed that I've been poisoning myself for over a week.

Does anyone out there take it and have issues at all?  Has anyone ever contacted the company to find out if its gluten free? I am going to contact them later today.  I tried to search the forums but was inconclusive as well. :/

Did you call the drug manufacturer?  Are you looking for an actual gluten label in the box?  It does not appear to have any gluten ingredients, at least on the tablets.  Drugs do not fall under the FDA rules for gluten free.  Most drugs are gluten free, however.  Too bad it is not clear cut.  If you are looking for a cause, this would be it!!!

Anyway, it should be safe if the drug company says it does not contain. Gluten, but they just do not test for gluten.

Well they responded so something else is getting to me it would seem. They sent me an awesome letter. See attached!

      Occasionally eating out in restaurants means that there is potential cross contamination in spite of ordering a gluten free dish. What enzyme supplements can the forum recommend that would help with potential cross contamination? Something I could take before I start eating. I used to order Wheat Rescue from Microbiome lab, but it is not available anymore.

      Hi  - Anyone have any experience with these? I bought them at Costco thinking they must be gluten-free, but now I see Natural Flavors and Spice in the ingredients. There's no Gluten Free labeling. However the Costco site and two other sites say it's gluten free. Anyone know?

      Yes, I doubt you can find a perfectly safe restaurant--perhaps a dedicated gluten-free restaurant, but in general, very few of them exist, and they tend to be in larger cities. Super sensitive celiacs should probably just avoid eating out.
