I haven't seen her posting anything in over a week. I know she was very ill with gall bladder/pancreatic problems. If anyone knows anything about her please advise as I've been worried about her for some time now.

I have not heard from her either, I may send her an email to check on her.

I think it has been almost two weeks since she posted, but she did say in her posts about Gallbladder disease and pancreatitis that she was going to Wisconsin to visit family and she was going to try to see a different doctor there. Maybe they are there in Wisconsin. Hopefully she got to a doctor that knows what they are doing. It is not safe to have stones floating freely around, they can clog up too many places that are vital to your health!

She may not have access to a computer or she may just be busy. Hopefully she is okay.

God bless,

Mariann

That makes sense then. So, Sadiesmomma, let us know how you are when you get back.

Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute. If you are interested in summaries of scientific publications on the topic of oats and celiac disease, we have an entire category dedicated to it which is here: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/oats-and-celiac-disease-are-they-gluten-free/
