Does anyone know if there is a gluten-free substitute for french fried onions (like in green bean casserole)?

Also are the new Blue Diamond flavored almonds gluten-free?

Number 3: Was wondering if anyone has info on the supplement "SEAVEGG". I emailed them but only got the automated response and that was about 7 weeks ago. Thanks, my celiac comrades, in advance!

Someone just posted here a few days ago that the blue diamond products are produced in a facility with wheat. I've eaten them before with no problem, but I am staying away from them now. I don't want to take the chance of getting contaminated.

Hi Robin--The only question I can (maybe) help you with is the french fried onion. I would think that you could make your own, slicing the onions, dipping the rings in egg and rice flour and then frying them until almost done. Then they could finish crisping up when you bake the whole casserole. I don't know of any sub. you can buy. Maybe someone else does?

How about Funyuns? I hear they are gluten-free. Before my diagnosis I had used fat-free onion melba toast, crumbled, in fat-free green bean casserole, but I wouldn't know what gluten-free products could substitute for that. Any ideas?

Thanks for trying to help, guys. Hadn't thought about the Funyuns. Don't know if they'd get too mushy when baking or not but I think I might try it.

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
