Celiac And Food Intolerance Gi Doc - Cleveland Ohio

Hi,

I have positive anti-gliadin IgA, all other blood neg, biopsy neg, but reponse to gluten-free and DF diet has been remarkable! Thus I believe I have Celiac, or at least gluten intolerance. I've also isolated the fact that I have Diary intolerance as well. None of this is allergy related, I've been tested for allergies and I have none.

I am looking for a GI doc, or other doc, in the area of Cleveland OH that is willing to order food intolerance, and Enterolab testing for me. My current doctor doesn't understand Celiac all that much, and doesn't get food intolerance either. (He told me yesterday that even though I cannot tolerate milk products that things like chedder cheese, and yogurt should be tolerable). As a result, he won't order any of the tests that are available. Obviously I can order all the tests I want, however my insurace won't cover a penny of it unless a doctor has ordered the test. Hench my search!!

If anyone knows of a good doc that is willing to order Enterolab, and food intolerance testing in the Cleveland Ohio Area, or even better at the Cleveland Clinic, Metro Health center, or University Hospitals Health System it would me much appreciated!!!!!

Regards,

Michael J. MacCartney

Michael,

Welcome to the board, fellow-Clevelander!

I have a Dr. Appt. today w/ the Cleveland Clininc Gastro-Specialist who diagnosed me so I will ask her what her thoughts are. If I get any kind of positive response I'll let you know.

Otherwise, best of luck and GO TRIBE!

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
