to try? We will be eating out some, so I am trying to compile a list now (and possibly contact some) before we head down there. I do have some chain restaurants lists, but wouldn't mind trying some local spots for a change.

Thanks for any info! :)

Kim

I have eaten at the Pf Changs there, as well as one of the Outbacks. Don't know about local places though-but good luck! I think there are some people on here from Georgia-maybe they can help you out!

Thanks for your post Laura!!

I do like PF Changs and Outback. I hear there is a gluten-free chocolate dessert there that I have yet to try. :)

Yes-Outback has a gluten free brownie with ice cream. It is the "normal" brownie that they serve to everyone-no one "else" knows that that it is gluten free! I have eaten it numerous times and have enjoyed i thoroughly.

you could try looking up the atlanta celiac support group-they might have listings on their website as to local gluten-free places to eat. I know that other ones do that-it would be worth a shot!

I went there last year and I had success at

1. Atlanta Fish Market (In Buckhead)

2. Vini Vidi Vici (Italian joint in Midtown)

3. Cherry (fine dining in Midtown)

I'll be in Atlanta in a couple of weeks and have to join a large group at the Atlanta Fish Market. Do they have gluten-free normally or did you have to explain?

Oh I'm going next weekend and we are actually moving there - so thanks for the suggestions! Does anyone know of any in Athens (we'll be around there too)?

Maggiano's at Perimiter mall has gluten-free pasta all the time and can accomodate gluten-free dining, just give them a call ahead of time. Our CSA support group is having a lunch there in April and the menu for the lunch looks soooooooo yummy.

My sister mentioned wanting to take me to Atlanta Fish Market...glad that you had success there! :) I am making a list and will add all of these.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
