We were diagnosed June 06 through enterolab.

I voted for me.......39 at diagnosis......40 now.

Children at the time of testing were 6 1/2 and 3 3/4. Youngest hasn't been tested but gluten's a problem with him. His reaction started at 2 1/2 months.

I voted for Ty (between ages 5 - 10) he was diagnosed about 3 months before his sixth birthday. He's the only one of us with a diagnosis.

(As for me, I'm 29 with 11 years experience :P .)

I'm 14 and found out when i was like 11... do you guys think it would be harder to of had gluten all your life and have to give up or resist the curiosity FOREVER! I think I have it pretty easy... I know what it tastes like but still am young enough to "release' the habit i guess.

I was diagnosed when i was 14. That was about a year ago. i wish i would have found this site sooner. after a year i have learned a lot and it would have been easier if i had found the site.

Lizzie i dont no if i agree that it is easier 2 give up gluten after having eaten it. once u no wut it tastes like, then u cant forget. i think it would be easier if i had been eating gluten free since i was really little.

Liz92 Rookie

Ya, that makes sense.... but I think that after a while your taste buds "dull" because I remember that when I wasn't cel. I had this glutenfree store bought bread and it tasted HORRIBLE but now its not so bad... I dunno. Maybe I'm JUst special.. :P

Not really voting... because I count for 4 people. =)

1. 5 year old daughter (dx at 4) in June, 2006

2. Myself - dx in Sept of 06 - at 36.

3. 8 year old son - dx 1.17.07

4. 17 month old son - gluten free in October, 06. However, pediatrician is convinced we are missing something...and ran a panel last week. Results from Mayo Clinic are pending.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
