I would like to ask if I can continue drinking espresso coffee? I be noticed that sometimes after drinking coffee I have pain in the guts and joints. How this is related to the celiac disease?

Thanks.

I had issues getting sick drinking coffee/espresso at some coffee shops and I always assumed some form of cross contamination, but drinking at home brewing myself from Christopher bean coffee and some stuff from the local grocery store never caused the issues. Although you might have a food sensitivity to coffee, or find your intestines just do not handle the acidity of the drink or the caffeine well right now and it might be alright as you heal.

You would honestly have to find a safe one and brew yourself to create a control and test it out via elimination diet.

Have you in fact been diagnosed with Celiac Disease and if so, are you eating gluten free?

Pure coffee is gluten-free, so espresso made from pure coffee is gluten-free. I can't think of a way to cross contaminate an espresso.

Some might. Some might not. Why don't you try it? Taste is a very personal and individual thing. I don't know that anyone can speak for you.

Welcome to the forum, @Thoas! Just curious. Why do you ask? Is there some reason you are hesitant to try it besides taste?

I was instructed to take Algaecal as alternative to bisphosphonate drugs for osteoporosis. I did for 2 years, 1200 mg a day. My cholesterol spiked above normal during this time. We watched it and finally determined best to get a test to see if calcium was causing the spike. I have never had high cholesterol before. Could the celiac non absorption have caused calcium to build in my arteries? Now put on a statin to lower cholesterol (began at 180 went to 240 while on Alcagal). thanks
