Feeling Like You Have To Urinate But You Don't.

When I am really bloated I feel like I have to urinate but when I try to go nothing happens. This happens to me all of the time especially when I working out. Anyone relate? I guess this is just a factor of being bloated and the pressure on your bladder.

Also, please look the thread "Blood test-which number is most important?", I posted the results of my blood test and I would appreciate anyone's help on figuring out what it means.

I think women probably have more "fun" with this aspect then men. Especially those of us who have had at least one pregnancy. That urge can come from so many things - diet, mild uti, mild bladder infection, lack of enough liquids (I'm guilty of that one a lot) and if I'm constipated for more than a day, I'll leak. Good thing the bathroom is real close to my office at work. Could be worse, I guess. At least I don't have to wear an adult diaper!!

Yes--and it also is different for me at different times of the month ;) . When I'm coming back from a gluten reaction, when the nausea lifts, I always have the urge to go more. A lot of things can affect it.

If you have any burning sensation when that happens, get in right away and check for a bladder infection. It does happen without an infection, especially those of us who have had a hysterectomy. But that is also the first sign of an infection. So you want to really know the difference.

Check for burning, a touch of blood, and a mild rise in temperature.

If these are not there, then relax and start wearing a panty liner :)

Viola,

Your last line is hilarious. I guess I will have to come to terms with it. :)

No burning, blood, or such I just feel like I have to go but I can't. Maybe I will bring it up to my dr when I see him in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the help.

There is a couple of other things that cause this, even in men as I've noticed in both my hubby and other male relatives.

If you tend to worry about where the nearest bathroom is going to be when you are out, or .. have company coming and you don't want to be embarressed by frequent bathroom visits .. then this really tends to happen big time. It's triggered by stress, the more you worry, the more you need that last bathroom visit before you go, or before your company gets there. And of course, you really don't have any left to go with.

Our bodies are really strange sometimes. But just to make sure it isn't something really physical .. DO ask your doctor.

Hum? I never really thought of it as something actaully wrong, just annoying. I WebMd'd cystitis and I am not sure if I match the majority of the symptoms except the feeling to urinate. I think I will definately talk to the dr. Jenvan, do you know anyone who has this (cystits)? Is it related to celiac?

I do think Viola might have a point about stress b/c i am always stressed out. Big time. I can't seem to not be stressed. Gray hair at 23 and all!

Erin-

I had cystitis for a period of time, but eventually it went away...Strange as it was. Docs didn't have any answers, just tried lots of antibiotics. For me it coincided with the onset of an infection and then a ruptured cyst, but it persisted for months after both of those had been resolved. My only symptoms was feeling like I always had to go to the bathroom. I'm going to pm with some other stuff....

I think I found a huge culprit for severe reactions to create worsening of my c symptoms. Do people with celiac have sensitivity and /or have opposite reaction to certain medications Where can I find a list ?  I'm new here I'm.wondering why I am getting worse when I take certain medicine...the burning feet.  Rebound muscle pain so intense  How many people get opposite effects or have a horrible attack after these meds

Does anyone know if that includes scrambled eggs and healthy smart butter (,gluten free) I add a very tiny amount of margarine less than a teaspoon.  I did no't have any bread    It just seems like no matter what I eat my stomach and nerves over fire and here comes a host of horrible symptoms. My lower abdomen feels horrible, my right leg thigh muscle.. very odd. Jaw pain. Burning feet , joint pain , you name it  The anxiety just creeps up into brain fog. I don't think I could explain this to anyone who is unfamiliar.  Also,  I most likely will not remember posting this until I check it.  This is highly unusual for me because I have an excellent memory.  One weekend before I knew anything about celiac I lost an entire weekend from severe brain fog, confusion, pain, etc.  I honestly thought I was losing my mind. When I think back I recall eating a lot of PBJ sandwiches and turkey sandwiches.  Once again did not know about gluten.  I was just too sick to cook. Do people fast during attacks ?? It seems horrible to keep going through this. I hope I'm not causing my own problems... I wonder if I should fast because I'm not eating gluten .  Chicken ,  scrambled eggs no milk , canned carrots,  gluten free low sugar low fat Greek yogurt which I already posted about 😞 Any suggestions I am open... I am bedridden when this happens to me.  Thank you Celiac community. 🙏🏻❤️

Yeah, that sounds super familiar. When inflammation levels are high — especially at the start of changing your diet — the body often develops a fructose and lactose intolerance. Unfortunately, the only thing that really helps is cutting out anything that isn’t lactose-free or that contains sugar. So basically, stick to meat, veggies, fish…

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you
