Diagnosed early 2000's

I have found that vinegar is my devil There is NO vinegar that I can handle Recent example I ate a carrot dipping it in store bought mayo OH NO I had a leak and on closer inspection guess what was in that liquid -carrot If I had just eaten the carrot I would  not have had the 'mistake'

Celiac is so hard

Thank You

There was a time that I avoided vinegar, but I found out that I could use distilled unflavored vinegar.  I hope this works for you.

Have you tried balsamic or apple cider vinegars?

megamike Newbie

I have tried ALL vinegar's and all of them cause me Celiac symptoms

So in 20+ years I use vinegar to clean stuff NO intake into my body

Back before the turn of the century I stopped using salad dressing with vinegar. Vitually ever commercial salad dressing has it. Caused itching and pain at the lymph nodes at the back of my jaw. Switched to oil and lemon juice or homemade Ceasar. Fermented foods made with salt fermentation, NO VINEGAR helped me replenish my gut biome with lactobacillus and ended my lactose intolerance.

THANK YOU wheatwacked ! Vinegar is not for me No vinegar few if any celiac issures

I make my own fermented sauerkraut

I did the Dill pickles. Less than a week on the counter til they are ready and forever in the fridge if I don't eat them first. With the increased salt, make sure you eat enough food with potassium to keep your Sodium:Potassium ratio above 2:1. The DV for potassium is 4700 mg. Easy to track because in the US the DV for potassium is required on the nutrition labels.

Thank you for explaining! This makes sense.

I have been looking for new dishes. I was surprised to find dishes made of wheat straw. Are these safe for us? I'm very careful to avoid products that may contain gluten. I never thought I might have to check for wheat in dishes.

Welcome to the forum, @Hope07! The reference range would refer to what is considered normal in healthy people. So, 7 or less would mean there is no indication of "active" celiac disease. Apparently, you are doing very will in avoiding gluten. The "Tissue Transglutaminase IGA" is the centerpiece antibody test that clinicians run when checking for celiac disease. My only reservation would be that whenever the TTG-IGA test is run, a "total IGA" test should also be run to check for IGA deficiency. When IGA deficiency is present, other IGA tests, such as the TTG-IGA can be artificially low and result in false positives. In the absence of any symptoms indicating your celiac disease is...

Hola! Not sure if I’m asking this in the right place so apologies if not! I just had a full blood count as part of my first check up after being diagnosed with celiac disease 7 years ago!! With Covid lockdowns then living in Spain for 3 years and now back in the UK, I kept getting missed in the system but finally I’ve had a check up! Does anyone know what this means?  Tissu transglutaminase IgA lev:  0.30 U/ml Reference range:  Below 7 Thank you!
