Lean Cuisine, Very Important

I went to the store thinking there were some Lean Cuisines I could have, after the letter that was posted. Well I bought Honey mustard chicken, chicken a' la orange, and glazed chicken. Before I cooked any of them I called Stouffers at 1-800-387-4636, they informed me that the Glazed Chicken is the only one that is gluten-free and they do not have a gluten-free list because it would become out of date too quickly. They do not have the Portabello Chicken in Canada. They have many varieties of Haagen Das ice cream that are gluten-free. I suggest calling them before you buy anything.

No Problem, as they say in Jamaica. I took it back to Safeway and the let me exchange it for Glazed Chicken.

The best part is I never ate one of the ones with gluten in it.

Good show! I am so happy to finally have at least one to eat. They are great for me to take to work also or when I have a class and don't have time to cook.

The glazed chicken is my favorite anyway, before I went gluten-free.

;)

Rusla, I am so sorry. I was the one that posted the letter. Is the phone number the same for US and Canada? Do they produce the same products in US and Canada? Were any of the ingredients suspect or was the gluten hidden?

Not your fault. The number for Canada and the US is different and they do not always carry the same things or made the same way, she told me. The gluten was definitely hidden in those because, I did compare the honey mustard chicken and the chicken a' la orange with my Celiac dictionary. I was very very careful. But she said the gluten was hidden. It makes it very difficult. I wish they would do everything the same no matter if it is here or in the US and I wish they would list everything.

The glazed chicken was yummy! All of the other ones said wheat on the label.

I've noticed almost all of the Lean Cuisines here have the allergens listed, making it really easy to find hidden gluten (maybe they don't do that in Canada because they don't have the new labeling laws?). I called once before the new law and they told me that they will always disclose hidden gluten.

Funny Rusula, After I read the same post, I went out and looked at the Lean Cuisean meals too. But the ones I found weren't ones I could eat that I thought I would like.

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?
