 I had to look up Michael Savage...is that the same one as Savage Nation? If so, yah, I'd say he's probably not very popular there.

Yeah, same guy. I don't listen often, but I always like him when I do. He's hysterical when he talks about San Francisco!

Well, he's certainly got a lot of material with San Francisco, lol.

I know it's hard for those of you in California to even consider that the land between NYC and CA is not just wilderness anymore, but they do have things like Whole Foods!

:lol::lol:

Hehe....sometimes I forget that other states are populated too.

I'm still not totally convinced they have Whole Foods though. :P

I'm in California...what could be MORE interesting.

LOL....me too...I live in CA...nuff said. B)

Donna..I used to live by the Winchester House too. :)

Before I moved to Manteca I was living off Winchester....in the neighborhood between Williams and Payne. I really liked the house and the neighborhood...but we were renting and we just got tired of paying alot of rent and having a sucky landlord.

The landlord had someone come and do some stuff in the yard and never told us they were coming...they left our gate open and both of our dogs were missing. It wasnt the first time it had happened and this time one of our dogs was killed on San Tomas. :(

As you can imagine...I was LIVID!!

So....yeah....we started looking to buy our own house after that happened.

I went to the Winchester house for the first time about 2 years ago. Its funny cuz its like this Historic Landmark right here in our area...and yet noone really goes there...except maybe tourists??

But this time we went.....mostly for the kids. I went with my ex and some of his family members. I was sick and that was back when I was still eating normal food, wearing perfume, drinking.....just basically poisoning myself into oblivion on a daily basis.

So yeah....I totally freaked out during the tour.:lol:

The house isnt really scary....not to me anyways....unless its starting to get dark and you sort of get seperated from the group...then yeah....things can change drastically.

So I heard the floorboards creaking and it was coming from behind me....when everyone in the tour had gone on ahead of me.

Of course I had no choice but to freak out and run hysterically down the hall trying to catch up with the group and then pushing people to get to my ex and tell him what happened.

It turned out to be the next tour group that I'd heard....they were catching up to us. I had thought we were the last group.

For anyone who wants to see the house...take a look..

The crazy woman just kept adding onto the house for some reason....I dont remember why but I think the story is on the website.

The house is huge but it really doesnt make any sense at all.....doors are there but when you open the door there is just wall.

Also some of the stairs are like totally miniture....so its kind of weird walking up these strange stairs...and sometimes you have to duck to not hit the ceiling....and sometimes the stairs will just lead you to nowhere.

Heres a link to the story and you can see the whole house from this view.

I do think it would be sort of fun to maybe go there on Halloween or something. I love Haunted Houses...like Gyros on Halloween....but again...I freak out and run like all heck...pushing anyone in my path.

They have people dressed like Michael Myers or Freddie...or Jason...and they pop out of secret doors and start coming at you.

LOL He has a conservative talk radio show in San Francisco. It's syndicated, so we get it here, too.

He is not a Republican, so unlike Rush, he's not straight party-line. He's very smart and I like his thinking, especially his ability to think for himself. He refers to himself as a "conservative independent".

He also has a degree or two in Nutrition. Some days he's so fed up with politics, he just talks health.

Dear Mia,

Living with my brother is not an option. He thinks I am a hypochondriac as well. He complains all the time, too. I love him, but he is a kvetch. I used to be much more positive. Lately, depression has taken me over. This environment is bad. Plus, I am afraid to do my rituals (I am Wiccan) because of the bad energy.

Dear Donna and Carla,

I am trying to figure something out. I think my best option is to go with Marvel Comics and submit some art. The worst that happens is you do not hear back. I signed up for Clicknwork to be a Net Researcher. It may be months before work actually comes, though. Get this, my mother blamed me for being defrauded! How could I know that could happen?

Everything was so legit. I checked things out. Plus, she said "You might as well have thrown out your $500 your grandparents gave you for graduation. That business did not work." God, why does murder have to be a crime and a sin? The cool part is, I can create a character like her in the comicbook, and knock her off! You cannot get in trouble for killing people who do not exist! :P

Regarding the haunted houses, I have psychic ability. The spirits always know, too! They pick on me! I have had a few encounters. We have a resident ghost, too. My best friend's grandfather pops in and out all the time. I actually miss him when he is not around now that I am used to him! I think a guy friend of mine that died is around. He always used to pat my back, and I feel someone putting their hand on my back a lot. It is so weird!

I had my first experience at our haunted library. Willard Library has Louise, and some other spirits in there. The police even believe it, because she has tripped the alarm, and she had even showed up on the security monitor once or twice! Go to www.libraryghost.com to check it out!

That was my first ghostly experience. My second was at the same age, of nine. My aunt and uncle's house is haunted, too. The dead guy knocked on the door at me! To this day, me and my brother won't go up there alone! He is not a bad spirit, but was very set in his ways.

The house where my best friend lives up the road had the guy die while mowing his lawn. A lot of times, in the summer, you will hear a lawn mower going at 11:00 or so at night! Is that weird or what? My best friend and my mother have heard it, too! In fact, it kept my best friend awake!

Mom used to work at a haunted television station. It was the old Carpenter house, where the same man that built the library lived. There are many spirits there, some not so friendly. One came home with my mother and stayed for about a week. Our dogs were really upset! There was all of this noise, but you could not see anything.

I have had some other encounters as well. They always know when you are sensitive! When they are around, there is a different energy. It is almost a vibration. Your hair will stand on end, and it often feels cold. I watch going to some places, because I know they can exhaust me. Being in ill health, I do not want to exhaust myself further.

Spirits often take energy from the living (known as vampirism) and you need to be careful. Many do not mean to harm you, but as a Wiccan, I have learned psychic self-defense. This is very important to learn. I have encountered beings that seem demonic. I shooed them off, but I am concerned about where they are now. Many people refuse to believe these things exist, but if you have experienced them, you know different.

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

Jin, reading your last post, it seems that you have a lot of experiences to draw from for comics! I'd submit the artwork, what have you got to lose? And why kill off the "mom" character? Seems to be a good antagonist figure. Your living situation might even make some funny subject matter. I'm thinking of Dilbert, isn't he the "loser" that has an office job and they make fun of not so funny office situations? But it comes out as being hysterical?

I don't know how spirits fit into the picture, why they're allowed to visit here, etc. But once I smelled my grandfather's pipe, knew it was his pipe, so called my dad to ask what was wrong with my grandmother ... he wondered how I knew.

My uncle has a haunted painting. The relative in the painting used to visit whoever had it, but hasn't now in years.

It's very strange. Probably a good thing we can't see angels and demons, it would probably scare us to death!

I think you need to figure out how to get out of your situation. I don't think it's going to change unless you make it change. In that negative situation, your health can't get better, so there's no better time than the present to do something -- even if it's a small change. You might not be able to actually move out as a first step ... you will need money for that. Maybe there's some kind of job you can get that doesn't require a lot of energy so that you can start saving.

Well, I got the results of the bloodwork they did last week. Everything is pretty normal except my overall cholesterol was a little high at 205 (they want it under 200), but my ratio was only 2.8 which puts me at very low risk for cardiac stuff.

The only other thing that was outside of normal range was Lymphocytes. It was 24 and the normal range is 26-46. I had no idea what this was except that it sounded like something to do with lymph nodes, lol. A quick search on the internet tells me it is an indicator for white blood cells. My score last year well within the normal range at 32.

My connection is so slow that I didn't do a lot of research, but low lymphocytes can indicate infection, virus or bacteria. Gosh, ya think, lol.

I'll do more research tomorrow at work to see if anything else comes up. I almost scared myself though cuz one fo the first things that came up was AIDS!!! Yikes, I'm over that now though.

Really...I wasnt sure if it was really haunted or if I had just had the impression that it....because its the "Mystery" house and all.

I'm intrigued by ghosts and all that stuff...but really...I wouldnt be able to handle it..I'm a big chicken.

The only place I recall being haunted in our area is the Toys R Us on El Camino. I've known about that one since I was a kid...but I never hear anything about it anymore.

I think it was on that show "Thats Incredible"...a really looong time ago. The ghosts would throw all the toys off of the shelves at night...balls rolling around everywhere...stuff like that. You could see it all happen on the store cameras......but you couldnt actually see the ghosts.

I think maybe one of the houses I lived in when I was younger had a ghost...I remember seeing it more than once and I would get that weird feeling all over like Jin described.

I agree...theres too much negativity in your environment. You cant really move forward with your health issues if you're surrounded by negativity.....it will only bring you down.

I hope there is something you can do to change the situation..or at least (like Carla said) do something small to get you headed in the right direction.

Yah, I watch the "haunted" shows on TV but wouldn't want an encounter in person. I have to laugh because there is a show called Most Haunted on the Travel Channel of all places...I laugh because this group of "ghost hunters" goes into the most haunted places in the UK and they say things like "if that's you, can you knock twice please" and you hear 2 knocks and everyone SCREAMS and gets all freaked out. It's kind of funny...I don't think I'd be calling them if I didn't want to hear the answer. And, the camera is never where it should be...it's always close up on one of the team's faces.

That show is more comical to me (although it's not supposed to be I think), but there is another one, which I can't remember the name, in the US. They go to all the haunted places and try to actually prove the haunting. They've caught some really WEIRD things on tape like a rope undoing itself off the wall, music playing when there wasn't any...weird.

I didn't know about the Toys'R Us thing...weird.

Donna...thats interesting. I looked up low lymphocytes and got pretty much the same stuff you mentioned.

What I found most interesting is that besides AIDS...it listed a couple autoimmune diseases....MS and Myasthenia Gravis. Then some rare type of syndrome that I never heard of...and then something called aplastic anemia. Also steroids can cause it. It said lots of things can cause low lymphocytes.

There are 2 different types of Lymphocytes....B and T cells.

Since MS and other autoimmune diseases are often misdiagnosed cases of Lyme ....I checked to see if Lyme causes low lymphocytes. Apparantly it does...I would guess that any chronic infection could do it....not just Lyme.

I tend to think autoimmune diseases are triggered by infection so if people with MS have low lymphocytes...they probably have some type of infection. <_<

Anyways...here is some of what I found.

To examine the nature and consequences of interactions between Lyme disease spirochetes and immune effector cells, we coincubated B. burgdorferi with primary and cultured human leukocytes. We found that B. burgdorferi actively attaches to, invades, and kills human B and T lymphocytes. Significant killing began within 1 hour of mixing.

The C D-57 test that Scott recommended is basically a count of the C D-57 lymphocytes. Its believed that this particular subset of lymphocytes is low in people with Lyme and that with treatment and progress....the lymphocytes go up.

So Scott always likes to recommend this test to see if they are low to start with. Then you can monitor your progress to see if the count is going up with treatment. Its not a "proven" method though. Apparantly....there is a pattern of Lyme patients having low C D-57 that goes up with treatment.

Maybe this is why you have the low lymphocytes though??

Maybe you could email Scott and ask him about low lymphocytes and about the C D-57 test.

What Dr. Harris (Igenix) had told me was that they dont run that test because it cant diagnose Lyme. If people are sick and get on antibiotics...or whatever...and then these C D -57's go up.....noone really can say for sure what was making them low to begin with. It could be other infections making it low...not just Lyme.

Thats about all I know about the test but I'm sure Scott knows alot more about it and he uses it to monitor his progress.

Heres what it says about Lyme and C D -57 lymphocytes specifically.

CD57 levels increased in chronic LD patients whose symptoms improved, while patients with refractory disease had persistently low CD57 counts.

CONCLUSIONS: A decrease in the CD57 lymphocyte subset may be an important marker of chronic LD. Changes in the CD57 subset may be useful to monitor the response to therapy in this disease.

I'm sure Lyme is just one of many things that could cause it...so its hard to know for sure. I would talk to Scott and see if it could be related to C D-57....and if you did have low C D -57....how much does that point toward Lyme....and could it also be why you had low lymphocytes (overall) in that test you just had???

It makes me wanna go ahead and order that test. It was the first test that Scott had recommended I get after my Western Blots.....but I didnt because I was looking for something more specific as far as diagnosis. It would be interesting to see what my count is right now though.

I thought Miamia was getting this test a few months back?? I dont know if she ever posted the results though.

Dear Carla,

I have signed up for something, and it is done by a lot of people who are too ill to work. I do not know when I will actually start, though. Testing must be taken first. Right now, the test for Web Searchers is disabled because they have too many applicants. :( Meanwhile, I could have a yard sale.

As for spirits, there are a number of reasons they are here. Some just want to be near us. They were family, and want to check on us. That is like Mr. J, our ghost. He always considered a friend of the family a friend of his. I had only met him twice my whole life! But Steph and I have been best friends since Kindergarten!

Regarding demons, I have seen a few. One was in our house! It was this black swirly-cloud thing.

I knew who sent it, too. I told it to get out, or I would get rid of him and who sent him! He knew I was mad. I do not get the feeling of someone being possessed or evil often, but I know to be careful when I do sense it!

Dear Donna,

I know the show you are talking about! I saw it! Derek is so over dramatic! Please, the guy is an idiot! If you do not want to be possessed, wear protection you idiot! He was overacts. Now, the other medium David Wells is more realistic. He is also Wiccan. ;) Finally, a good representative of my faith.

Your test results are so wonky. I would not be surprised at all if Lyme is responsible. That would not be a shock at all. At least your cholesterol is not too high, just a little off. As for the mystery D, it very well could have been the Valerian. It did not set well with me, either!

Dear Rachel,

I heard about that Toys'R Us, too! There were stories going around about it a long time ago!

I remember people talking about it! They probably saw that program! I did not see it.

Yep, there is a definite energy around when spirits are there. It is such a strange feeling! You know they are around, though! About six months after Steph's grandfather died is when all of this started happening around here. There was noise in the sink behind me while I was up late studying in the kitchen. I also felt like I was being watched.

Now, the thing is, we built this house. No one but pets died here. I felt like whoever it was stayed in the dining room area. They were watching me. I found out later that my mother had seen a man's shadow that was about Steph's grandfather's height. That all made sense. I know it is him!

Sincerely,

NoGluGirl

Thanks Rachel!!! :)

I was also thinking Lyme, but also knowing that it could be any number of things. I think asking Scott is a great idea...I'll probably do that tomorrow morning when I'm fresh and alive (or more so than I am at this time of evening, lol). In my ART session, besides Lyme, he also saw H.Pylori, which he said was probably just some sort of energy left over since I tested clear on two lab tests, and possibly some sort of viral thing.

EDITED THIS LAST SENTENCE: I'm wondering why this would just be showing up now if it were lyme unless all the detox, etc. has changed things. Since this test was run by Camino Medical, I'm pretty sure it wasn't looking at the more lyme specific cells...just a guess though.

How long ago was it that you last got tested?? I'm sure things could change. Heck...you could get tested again next week and then be in the normal range again....who knows??

Nooo....they defnately wouldnt be looking for anything specific. Also....the C D-57 isnt "recognized" as being Lyme specific...so it wouldnt be anything that mainstream testing would look for.

This is what Scott says about the test on his site...

C D-57 - We have all likely heard of people with HIV/AIDS getting their T-cell counts or C D-4 cell counts checked on a regular basis. Current information suggests that there is a similar population of NK (natural killer) cells called C D-57 cells that are known only to be suppressed in the presence of Lyme disease.

Generally guidelines are that a score of < 20 indicates advanced or highly active Lyme disease. Scores of 20-60 are indicative of active Lyme disease where scores > 60 start to suggest that the Lyme infection is less active. A normal test result would be > 200. It is my opinion that treatment is necessary until the C D-57 test score is 150 or above. The lower the result, the more likely a relapse if treatment is terminated.

The test can be an indication of progression of disease or of progress in treatment. However, it should be noted that it is not uncommon to see only small changes in the results until the end of treatment where the results often then jump quickly to higher levels. For now, it is my opinion, that this test can both be used as an indicator of Lyme disease presence and as a marker for when to consider stopping treatment.

Basically its his opinion that this test indicates Lyme...alot of Dr.'s believe that there is a definate connection...and that lyme is what suppresses those cells.

Other people (like Dr. Harris) say that the test isnt diagnostic until it can be proven that nothing else can suppress those cells...that only Lyme can afect those cells....so far that hasnt been proven.

But yeah....people with active lyme infections tend to have low numbers.

Sheeesh...now I gotta find out what my numbers are.

Ok...here is more about the test...

Up until recently there has been no means whatsoever of proving the existence of chronic or persistent Lyme infections, other than the subjective observations vaguely implied by the IDSA and the interpretation of Western blot bands the IDSA refuses to acknowledge.

Drs. Raphael Stricker and Edward Winger recently isolated a test which so far has proved to be a good indicator of patients' B. burgdorferi bacteria load, the C D-57 NK test. Just as AIDS patients have always held great store in their CD4 T-cell count, Lyme patients now have a fairly reliable marker of the status of their illness, notes Ginger Savely, RN.

She also claims that a low C D-57 count, which indicates an active Lyme bacterial load, cannot be caused by MS, lupus, and other diseases Lyme tends to mimic.

Dr. Burrascano writes: "our ability to measure C D-57 counts represents a breakthrough in [Lyme borreliosis] diagnosis and treatment." He adds, "if the C D-57 count is not in the normal range when a course of antibiotics is ended, then a relapse will almost certainly occur." More research into the C D-57 test is needed, as it is not yet recognized by the mainstream, but it may prove to be the "reliable objective measures" needed to prove the necessity of ongoing antibiotic treatment for Lyme disease.

I'm curious of which lab Scott uses for this test and also how much it costs. I think I'm super curious now.

Well...I can tell you this...

I might not have understood 75% of what I read on that site the first time around...but I sure as heck understood that part!!

Yeah...its a little scary to me and it definately made me think twice if I even wanna continue learning about LED after reading that. <_<

I'm thinking....ok...I might have to deal with some horrible detox symptoms, I'll be holed up in a hotel somewhere in Texas or Arizona or somplace, who knows what I'll be eating (do they even have WF over there  )....so I'm prepared for all that.

But the cell phone thing...I dunno. ..that seems a little "over the top" ya know.

I can deal with the other stuff but yeah you're right....they might be asking a bit much with the CELL PHONE restrictions. :P

Do you think they'll make me stay away from computers too???? :o:o

I got a cell phone later than most of my friends, not til I was just out of college... but since I got one, I'm not sure that I've used a regular phone (aside from work) more than a handful of times... I don't even have a house phone where I live now and probably won't get one either when I move in a few weeks...

a part of me knows it's probably not "great" for my health (or anyone's health for that matter) to be constantly using and in close proximity to things like computers, phones, lots of electronics, etc. due to EMF's, radiation, and whatnot.... but it's too ingrained in my lifestyle to really give that stuff up... guess I gotta chalk it up as a cost to living in today's society unless I go the route of my relatives in Maine who don't even have their TV plugged in...

oh, and I'm with you on not knowing what texas or arizona would have... I know carla's trying to convince us otherwise but I'm not sure much exists between jersey and cali...

Ok...going back to LED.

I think I have a better understanding of how it works. :)

@catnapt, Wheat germ has very little gluten in it.  Gluten is  the carbohydrate storage protein, what the flour is made from, the fluffy part.  Just like with beans, there's the baby plant that will germinate  ("germ"-inate) if sprouted, and the bean part is the carbohydrate storage protein.   Wheat germ is the baby plant inside a kernel of wheat, and bran is the protective covering of the kernel.   Little to no gluten there.   Large amounts of lectins are in wheat germ and can cause digestive upsets, but not enough Gluten to provoke antibody production in the small intestines. Luckily you still have time to do a proper gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum of two weeks) before your next appointment when you can be retested.

Hello, @asaT, I'm curious to know whether you are taking other B vitamins like Thiamine B1 and Niacin B3.  Malabsorption in Celiac disease affects all the water soluble B vitamins and Vitamin C.  Thiamine and Niacin are required to produce energy for all the homocysteine lowering reactions provided by Folate, Cobalamine and Pyridoxine.   Weight gain with a voracious appetite is something I experienced while malnourished.  It's symptomatic of Thiamine B1 deficiency.   Conversely, some people with thiamine deficiency lose their appetite altogether, and suffer from anorexia.  At different periods on my lifelong journey, I suffered this, too.   When the body doesn't have sufficient thiamine to turn food, especially carbohydrates, into energy (for growth and repair), the body rations what little thiamine it has available, and turns the carbs into fat, and stores it mostly in the abdomen.  Consuming a high carbohydrate diet requires additional thiamine to process the carbs into energy.  Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white rice, etc.) don't contain thiamine, so the body easily depletes its stores of Thiamine processing the carbs into fat.  The digestive system communicates with the brain to keep eating in order to consume more thiamine and other nutrients it's not absorbing.   One can have a subclinical thiamine insufficiency for years.  A twenty percent increase in dietary thiamine causes an eighty percent increase in brain function, so the symptoms can wax and wane mysteriously.  Symptoms of Thiamine insufficiency include stunted growth, chronic fatigue, and Gastrointestinal Beriberi (diarrhea, abdominal pain), heart attack, Alzheimer's, stroke, and cancer.   Thiamine improves bone turnover.  Thiamine insufficiency can also affect the thyroid.  The thyroid is important in bone metabolism.  The thyroid also influences hormones, like estrogen and progesterone, and menopause.  Vitamin D, at optimal levels, can act as a hormone and can influence the thyroid, as well as being important to bone health, and regulating the immune system.  Vitamin A is important to bone health, too, and is necessary for intestinal health, as well.   I don't do dairy because I react to Casein, the protein in dairy that resembles gluten and causes a reaction the same as if I'd been exposed to gluten, including high tTg IgA.  I found adding mineral water containing calcium and other minerals helpful in increasing my calcium intake.   Malabsorption of Celiac affects all the vitamins and minerals.  I do hope you'll talk to your doctor and dietician about supplementing all eight B vitamins and the four fat soluble vitamins because they all work together interconnectedly.

Hi Jane: You may want to try the D3 I now take. I have reactions to fillers and many additives. Sports Research, it is based in the USA and I have had no bad reactions with this brand. The D3 does have coconut oil but it is non GMO, it is Gluten free, Soy free, Soybean free and Safflower oil free.  I have a cupboard full of supplements that did not agree with me -  I just keep trying and have finally settled on Sports Research. I take NAKA Women's Multi full spectrum, and have not felt sick after taking 2 capsules per day -  it is a Canadian company. I buy both from Amazon. I wish you well in your searching, I know how discouraging it all is. Florence.

highly unlikely  NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else has ever caused me these kinds of symptoms I have no problem with dates, they are a large part of my diet In fact, I eat a very high fiber, very high vegetable and bean diet and have for many years now. It's considered a whole foods plant based or plant forward diet (I do now eat some lean ground turkey but not much) I was off dairy for years but recently had to add back plain yogurt to meet calcium needs that I am not allowed to get from supplements (I have not had any problem with the yogurt)   I eat almost no processed foods. I don't eat out. almost everything I eat, I cook myself I am going to keep a food diary but to be honest, I already know that it's wheat products and also barley that are the problem, which is why I gradually stopped eating and buying them. When I was eating them, like back in early 2024, when I was in the middle of moving and ate out (always had bread or toast or rolls or a sub or pizza) I felt terrible but at that time was so busy and exhausted that I never stopped to think it was the food. Once I was in my new place, I continued to have bread from time to time and had such horrible joint pain that I was preparing for 2 total knee replacements as well as one hip! The surgery could not go forward as I was (and still am) actively losing calcium from my bones. That problem has yet to be properly diagnosed and treated   anyway over time I realized that I felt better when I stopped eating bread. Back at least 3 yrs ago I noticed that regular pasta made me sick so I switched to brown rice pasta and even though it costs a lot more, I really like it.   so gradually I just stopped buying and eating foods with gluten. I stopped getting raisin bran when I was constipated because it made me bloated and it didn't help the constipation any more (used to be a sure bet that it would in the past)   I made cookies and brownies using beans and rolled oats and dates and tahini and I LOVE them and have zero issues eating those I eat 1 or more cans of beans per day easily can eat a pound of broccoli - no problem! Brussels sprouts the same thing.   so yeh it's bread and related foods that are clearly the problem  there is zero doubt in my mind

Thank you for your post, @nanny marley It is interesting what you say about 'It's OK not to sleep'. Worrying about sleeping only makes it much harder to sleep.  One of my relatives is an insomniac and I am sure that is part of the problem.  Whereas I once had a neighbour who, if she couldn't sleep, would simply get up again, make a cup of tea, read, do a sudoku or some other small task, and then go back to bed when she felt sleepy again.  I can't think it did her any harm - she lived  well into her nineties. Last week I decided to try a Floradix Magnesium supplement which seems to be helping me to sleep better.  It is a liquid magnesium supplement, so easy to take.  It is gluten free (unlike the Floradix iron supplement).  Might be worth a try.
