Bread Machine

Can you recommend a bread machine? If so, why that brand and what "flour" mix do you use. Any tips on making bread would also be appreciated. Should I even bother getting a bread machine? Are the costs the same store brand vs. home made?

Thanks in advance for any info you share.

Mary

I have a Zojirushi and love it. It is heavy duty and has 2 paddles. I have never made bread without a bread machine and am not a baker, other than cookies, so I needed it. I use Gluten-Free Pantry's Favorite Sandwich Bread Mix for bread.....it is awesome and reminds me of my Grandma's bread.

Hope this helps!

Ditto Wolfie's post. Zojirushi! I like Gluten-Free Pantry's Favorite Sandwich Bread a lot. Right now Pamela's Amazing Wheat Free Bread mix is my favorite (GFP bread above is a close 2nd imo)

Me to for the Zoj. I love it . I make Anna's bread mix.....

Most gluten-free breads only need one rising.

I just bought a Breadman Ultimate at Sears for $99.00 and it has a Gluten Free setting. Not only that, but the recipe booklet includes great Gluten-Free recipes, too.

I've been quite busy since I bought it, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but others who have say the bread it just wonderful.

Good luck.

Helen.

Last week I bought the Cuisinart bread machine w/ gluten free setting. It was $99. I havent gotten to try it out yet though...I ordered some mixes from Miss Roben's allergy site so I'm waiting for them to arrive before I break in my machine. I cant use any of the mixes I've found in the stores because of corn intolerance.

Thiamine interacts with all the other B vitamins.  Thiamine and B 6 make a very important enzyme together. With more thiamine and other vitamins available from the supplements your body is absorbing the ones you need more of.  The body can control which vitamins to absorb or not.  You're absorbing more and it's being transported through the blood.   It's common to have both a Thiamine and a Pyridoxine deficiency.  Keep taking the B Complex. This is why it's best to stop taking supplements for six to eight weeks before testing vitamin levels.

Yes I took a supplement that had B6 in it, low dosage though. I've stopped taking that. B1 doesn't affect other B vitamin levels?

Have you tried lip balm made from tallow?  It's been used for thousands of years and works better than those with waxes. I prefer Vintage Traditions brand tallow balm products.

Are you taking a B 6 supplement or a supplement containing B 6 like a B Complex?  Do you have pins and needles in your toes?   Don't worry about the thiamine being high.  The blood is a transport system that carries thiamine to the cells so they can store it.  It's fine.

Quick question, had some blood tests done again and once again my zinc was too low but now ofcourse my B1 was too high and so was my B6. The doc said to  immediately  stop all supplements that contain B6. Can using thiamine raise the levels of B6 too?
