My doctor recommended that I take over-the-counter Claritin for my allergies. I've been looking online to see if it is gluten free and some websites claim that it is gluten free while others dispute that statement. Does anyone know if it is gluten free or not?

yes it is but i do belive it depends on what type im like 100% that claritin-D is gluten free

Clatitan is gluten-free. I take it. Some of the formulations are not dairy free--but all are gluten-free.

Also, the generic from Wal-mart, Loratidine, is also gluten-free. I called and verified this just a month or so ago.

Kim--I remember you posting that! I made a note of it, and when I finish what I have, I'm switching over--it's so much less expensive! Thanks for checking :D

Glad I could help!! I know that for me it is only $6.96 for a 30 day supply here in Ohio.....can't beat that! :)

I haven't seen them, but I haven't really looked either. I am going to Wal-mart later on today, I'll check and let you know if I see any. :)

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.

      Oats naturally contain a protein called avenin, which is similar to the gluten proteins found in wheat, barley, and rye. While avenin is generally considered safe for most people with celiac disease, some individuals, around 5-10% of celiacs, may also have sensitivity to avenin, leading to symptoms similar to gluten exposure. You may fall into this category, and eliminating them is the best way to figure this out. Some people substitute gluten-free quinoa flakes for oats if they want a hot cereal substitute.
