Make And Take Meals-sociale And Let's Dish-have gluten-free Options!

Ok, I was shocked to see on our local news that of the "Make and Take" meal places sprouting up, TWO have gluten free dishes available as options. These are the places you go in and they have all the products there for you and you assemble them and can take them home and freeze them for easy meals. Now, I've never done this because I've always frozen my own meals for a month, but hey-someone here might want to know.

The two are "Let's Dish" which is a chain and you can see which states they are in and will soon be coming to here: Open Original Shared Link (they average $2.80/serving) and Sociale, which has gourmet chefs available and is higher priced, and the news rated them at the best at tailor made meals, especially for special diets (they average $3.20/serving). Sociale is at about five MN Twin Cities locations, so it isn't nationwide. Here is the news comparison of the chains like this they researched Open Original Shared Link . I've never been in these places so I'm not sure how I'd feel doing gluten-free meals there, though I've heard you can take in your own utensils and stuff if you prefer, but I'm was just suprised it was even an option.

The one I go to is dinner done. www.dinnerdone.com. They have location in FL and VA. I love this. They have a dietician that goes over all the ingredients. I have been doing this since I went gluten-free and I have never had a problem. It is great to just be able to pop something in the oven and have a meal an hour later.

I highly recommend these services. They also teach you how to cook. I have been much more creative in the kitchen since I started going there. I get so much food that I know I couldn't cook everything for less myself.

Wow these places sound great. Wish we had one up here. Sounds good to not have to cook one night and still have a dinner! lucky you!

Well, maybe I'll have to check them out now, as I've never used them before! I'm going to contact them I think and find out just what their gluten-free options are...I can always use help learning how to cook:)

Just an update, in case anyone wants to know: Let's Dish never got back to me, but Sociale did. The first letter from the owner said she thought the idea of marking which dishes are/could be made gluten free on their actual website was a good one and they are going to work on that (they had the peanut allergy marked on some dishes, and which are/could be vegetarian marked on others). The offerings changed month by month. Here is the letter from the chef:

This is so interesting b/c I've been looking at some OAMC sites. When I get back from vacation, I'm going to attempt this myself. I don't think that they could ever accomodate me because of the multiple FAs, but I will email them, too, and be interested in the gluten-free cooking so that others could have this option :D

      So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

      I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this.Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.

      I used to be able to get the Rivera yougut i havent been able to get it lately. I like getting it did say it did say gluten free. I just looking for a good yogurt that gluten free that i can add some fruit and nuts to any suggestion would be helpful  thanks
