Lanigan's Procedures Today

So Lanigan had the scopes and biopsys done this morning. Every looked heathy with the naked eye, but he took 11 biopsies from 4 different areas. We will get those results back Monday. Dang the waiting. We will get all the lab results then as well. He is thinking he might have eosiniphilic esophageous something or another(long word mommy hasn't quite memorized yet). Again, we will know Monday. If his biopsies don't show anything, we are going to be hospitalized for a week at least while they try to figure out what his deal is, establish a pattern etc. The prob with that is that he has no pattern. But, guess we will see.

Anyway, he is doing well after the procedure, but is horribly groggy(of course).

Thank you for the update. Sounds like he did really good.

I agree the waiting stinks. I am glad he is doing well after all that poking. I will be looking for your post on what you find out.

We go to another dr on Monday for my DD. Her blood work wasn't negative like I had been told and dr admitted I know more about celiac than he does so he referred me on. Hopefully we can get Kirsten diagnosed so we can help her on the road to recovery. (well, that is another post in pre-diagnosis so I won't ramble on here)

Hopefully you will actually find something out on Mon and not have to live at the hospital for a week. Good luck. :) Kendra

Hi there, I just wanted to say that when the dr did nicole's biopsy she said she didn't see any thing with the naked eye also. But when the results came back,She had it.

Hi, it was the same thing for my son Jacob. The doc. said everything looked good but then we got a positive result from the biopsy. Good luck.

I’m having this type of MRI this afternoon,  What specifically do you want to know?  From what I’ve read, not all facilities use the same drink prep.

Hi I've been told I need a MRI on my bowels , I was booked for a colonoscopy, but because of my sever back issues and trapped nerve it can't be done , the nurse told me I will have to have a manitol drink a hour before the scan , I'm just a bit worried has I have issues with sweeteners like even a little,  I get a weird throat and ears and I've read it is a similar substance , not sure if anyone has had one of these scans or could give me some advise on the drink prep thanks in advance 😄

Hi all ! Can a celiac attack be so intense that it causes your entire body to work in reverse? Meaning really bad pain,  neuropathy and muscle,  jaw pain,  the stomach issues , Horrible anxiety and confusion??  I had a Tums and you would think I ate poison. My jaw and stomach did not like it . Not the norm for me. Things that are simple are just out of control. Anyone ever have this happen??  I'm trying to figure out what I ate or did to bring on a celiac like attack. I had an idea before but yesterday I didn't have any gluten unless it was in a medication ?! Any positive suggestions ??  Thank you

The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping. It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product's ingredient label like this: Allergens: Wheat.
