Glutened After Husband Making Bread?

My husband loves fresh baked (gluten-containing) bread from his breadmaker. Because I'm incredibly paranoid about CC, I make him take the loaf pan and the sealed container of flour out on the porch to empty the flour into the loaf pan. He then seals the flour container up and carefully carries the loaf pan (now containing flour and without a lid) inside and puts it in the breadmaker, shuts the breadmaker lid and turns it on.

The last 2 times he's made bread, I've ended up feeling like I've been glutened even though he's been incredibly careful and there is no flour remnants in the kitchen after he's done.

Could little bits of flour dust be seeping out of the closed breadmaker or out of the loaf pan when he's walking from the porch to the kitchen?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to figure out if I'm being glutened by this or if I've developed other intolerances...

I would say it is possible that it is the flour, have you checked out the other thread that is talking about this too?

      Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.

      Yes this is very frustrating for me ... not sure what to think.  Feels like I'm having reactions to a lot of things  Now applesauce?? I don't understand 😞

      I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you

      Anyone else get pins and needles. ??? Burning feeling ? Heat makes it so much worse 😔  Winter is here.  I had to lower my thermostat because I couldn't take that hot air feeling 😔  Hopefully it goes away soon

      I assume that you already know that genetic testing for celiac disease cannot be used to confirm a celiac diagnosis. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. It can be used to rule out celiac disease with a high degree of confidence, however, in the case where the genetic testing is negative for the genes. Until and unless you are actually diagnosed with celiac disease I would not raise this as an issue with family. However, if you are diagnosed with celiac disease through blood antibody testing and/or endoscopy with positive biopsy I would suggest you encourage first degree relatives to also purse testing because there is a significant chance (somewhere betwee 10% and almost 50%, depending on which studies you reference) that they will also have or will develop active celiac disease. Often, there are symptoms are absent or very minor until damage to the small bowel lining or other body systems becomes significant so be prepared that they may blow you off. We call this "silent celiac disease".
