Isn't brown rice in anything a No No? I see brown rice in ingredients of foods that are suppose to be wheat free. I don't get it. Can someone explain this to me please?

Brown rice, in and of itself, plain brown rice is gluten-free.

It it's part of a rice mix, where other ingredients and flavors are added, you would need to check.

If the brown rice is used as an ingredient in a product, you would then need to check the gluten status of the product itself.

Brown rice and wheat are two completely different things.

Hope that clears it up for ya! :)

rice is gluten free. it's one of the easiest grains for us to find that's gluten free.

where did you get the information that brown rice had gluten?

Franceen Explorer

Brown Rice is RICE, not wheat.

There is no wheat in brown rice.

Wild Rice has been the subject of lots of gluten rumors, even though it isn't really rice, is isn't wheat or barley either.

Both are inherently gluten free substances.

The only plants on earth that contain gluten are wheat, barley and rye. Oats are subject to cross contamination a lot, so are avoided by some Celiacs.

Brown rice is gluten free, as previously posted. I'm not sure where you heard this but it is perfectly safe.

However, some brown rice syrups are not gluten free...maybe this is what you heard or read??

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
