Happy Veteran's Day to any board members who have served or currently serve, and their family members.

I am the proud daughter of a recently retired naval officer (38 years of service) and the sister to a current naval officer (5 years of service). I am forever indebted to theirs, and others, service.

With the holidays coming up, it makes me appreciate what our soldiers, sailors, and airmen are sacrificing each and every day.

I just got back from the Remembrance Day ceremony here in Clarington. I love it - they really know how to honour our vets in this town - a huge turnout every year - rain or shine (of course, it poured this year....). I controlled myself very well this year, as the kids and Terry were with me this time (being a Saturday, instead of a weekday. I usually ball my eyes out every year.......

Sending huge hugs to all the vets, those who made it back and those who didn't and those who are currently serving......

Our Veterans' Day Parade was really great this year. Our JROTC Color Guard was infront of the entire parade, which was one the greatest honors I and my other fellow Color Guard members has had. Once we got to the Courthouse, four of our cadets were choosen to do a flag holding similiar to one that we did in DC.

It brought back memories of the stories I heard at Arlington, the reality of what our soliders went/are going through to keep our nation safe. This day is so special---to remember all Veterans, whether they be alive, in Arlington or buried in the smallest town in the United States, we owe so much to them.

God Bless all---especially our Military and Veterans today :)

Every 11/11 when we wake up I wish my husband a happy Veteran's Day with a kiss. He laughs at me. It's been 27 years of doing this.

      Not necessarily. The "Gluten Free" label means not more than 20ppm of gluten in the product which is often not enough for super sensitive celiacs. You would need to be looking for "Certified Gluten Free" (GFCO endorsed) which means no more than 10ppm of gluten. Having said that, "Gluten Free" doesn't mean that there will necessarily be more gluten than "Certified...

      I think it is wise to seek a second opinion from a GI doc and to go on a gluten free diet in the meantime. The GI doc may look at all the evidence, including the biopsy report, and conclude you don't need anything else to reach a dx of celiac disease and so, there would be no need for a gluten challenge. But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you...

I wish I had known of this at the time of her diagnosis, life would have been much easier.  I hope you are able to figure out.

I almost said no because she made it in her kitchen but I thought it would be ok.  Next day and for a few after his behavior is awful. Hitting, rude, disrespectful. Mainly he kept saying his legs were shaking. Is this a gluten exposure symptom that anyone else gets? Also the bad behavior?

But if the GI doc does want to do more testing, you can worry about the gluten challenge at that time. But between now and the time of the appointment, if your symptoms improve on a gluten free diet, that is more evidence. Just keep in mind that if a gluten challenge is called for, the bare minimum challenge length is two weeks of the daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten, which is about the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread. But, I would count on giving it four weeks to be sure.
