When I was tested 3 months ago (blood) my numbers were before diet and after diet Hope this all makes since. I got all this off of my LabCorp papers.

Antigliadin Abs, IgA 44 High neg 0-4 pos >4 Now 3

Antigliadin Abs, IgG 56 High neg 0- 9 pos>9 now units 20H u/ml

t-Transglutaminase(tTG) IgA 25 High Now 2 neg 0-3

weak positive 3-10 Positive >10

t-Transglutaminase ( tTG) IgG 1 Now 1

Endomysial Antibody IgA Positive abnormal negative Now Neg Neg

Immunoglobulin A,Qn serum 154 Now 104

wbc 3.9 low NOW 4.8

rbc 4.62 now 4.48

hemoglobin 10.5 low now 11.3

hematocrit 33.7 low now 33.3

MCV 73 low now 74

MCH 22.7 low now 25.2

MCHC 31.2 low 33.9

RDW 18.2 high 19.6

Iron serum 23 low now 33

Iron saturation 6 alert now 9

Vitamin D 25 hydroxy 62.1

So my question is the IgG is 20 H u/ml what is that and all the other numbers. Is there anywhere I can look and see if I have the gene, or is that yet another test . My doctor says that my diet is definetly working. I just finished a glass of milk and feel bloated. Sorry If I am asking to many question. If I am just let me know. Sorry I am feeling kinda low today for some reason.

Thanks rebecca :(

Wow, your numbers are normalizing quickly, and your levels of essential nutrients are going up, as well as your hemoglobin etc. improving. Your diet is definitely working, and your villi must be healing VERY fast.

So, you're bloated after drinking milk? I am afraid you're at least lactose intolerant then, maybe even casein. Try taking lactaid with your milk. If that is no help, it's casein, and you may need to eliminate all dairy.

You didn't have the gene test, if you want to know if you have the celiac disease genes, you will still need to get that done. If you don't have the genes they normally look for, you'd have to get the gene test from Enterolab, to see if you 'just' have the gluten sensitive genes (which really are just as bad).

Thanks. what in the world is casein? I thought about having my doctor send me to an allgerist to see what else I am intolerant to. I think i am allergic to pine nuts, i would eat them and get terribly crampy and hurt badly. now I think it could of been celiac all the time and did not know

Casein is the milk protein, which would be in cheese, yogurt, milk, sour cream, ice cream........you know, everything that is made from milk.

A lot of intolerances never get picked up by testing, because many times you'll have a delayed reaction. If you don't immediately react to something, it will be missed by almost all conventional testing, and the only way to figure it out is with an elimination diet.

So, you may not test positive for dairy at all, while it may make you awfully sick. You really need to go with what your body is telling you. If milk makes you bloated, you need to avoid it, no testing needed. Dietary response is the best, easiest, and most valid test there is.

Wow, your numbers HAVE gone down fast. That's fantastic. I agree with Ursula about getting tested for Milk & Casein antibodies. I was at the allergy/immunologist, and he tested for milk & casein ALLERGIES, but not antibodies. I told him that I would like to have the ANTIBODIES tested. Haven't gotten much response, but am going to keep plugging!

There's a difference between an ALLERGY and having ANTIBODIES. Be very clear which your doctor is testing. Skin tests are for allergies, and they tell you what to avoid in order to not have an allergic reaction. Antibody testing is usually done by blood test and will tell what your body will fight like the devil if you ingest it. With regard to genetic testing -- I have just had the greatest experience with that -- I would recommend seeing a geneticist at this point. They told me that the average person has seen 9 other doctors who told them that "it's all in your head" before they get to them. Bypass the other 7 and see a geneticist!!!

I am really happy for you that your numbers went down so quickly. That is amazing. Good luck to you with your continued medical "journey". You're doing the right thing. Good luck to you . . . keep in touch

((((hugs))))

Wow, thank you everyone you !!!!!! I am totally greatful for all the imput. no one understands like this board. I will talk to my doctor this week for other results and I will be telling her all that I have learned. My doctor told me once that I would probably learn more by research than see could tell me. So now I can tell her she was correct. Again thank you all.

Thank you. I must have misinterpreted a study or something. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated. Almost three years into my celiac diagnosis and I'm still learning new things.

I wasn’t clear, glucagon and gadolinium were intravenous. I drank about 5 cups of the prep during 45 minutes. I feel very tired now, probably partly because I was nervous, and partly because I had to fast for 6 hours beforehand and wasn’t very hungry when I got home.

That seems at lot of solution to have put threw you when you already have bowel issues , I will phone them tomorrow because it's sorbitol I have reactions too, thankyou for the input how do you feel now ? I'm not sure I can keep still for that long with my back issues either unfortunately I didn't know it could take that long 😕

The solution I had to drink contained sorbitol and mannitol. I was in the MRI, lying on my back, for about 40 minutes. I was given glucagon partway through, and a gadolinium contrast agent. After I got home there was some diarrhea from the prep solution.
