Hi Angie,

Thanks for taking the time to write to us and for your interest in LongHorn Steakhouse.

We are currently in the process of testing all of our products to be able to, upon request, supply our guests with nutritional information. That being said, I do have some nutritional information to date, but it is not yet completed and it is not yet formatted for distribution for our entire menu. We hope to have this entire process completed in the near future. If you have other specific item requests please feel free to contact me and if the analysis is complete on that item I would be happy to forward to you. Please see below.

Although LongHorn Steakhouse does not have a gluten-free kitchen, we will make every attempt to meet your needs for a gluten-restricted diet.

LongHorn Steak House, in cooperation with the Gluten Intolerance Group (www.gluten.net) is currently publishing a menu appropriate for gluten-restricted diets. The items listed on the menu are appropriate for a gluten-restricted diet, as is, or can be ordered with minor changes (listed in italics). To ensure that your meal is prepared properly, please request that all items are prepared in separate containers and on clean food contact surfaces.

That was a great reply, considering they aren't quite ready to publish a gluten-free menu, but it appears they know the drill.

thanks for posting this.

I am glad to see this post, we were just down by Park City Center over the weekend and I saw this place. We don't have any near Harrisburg.

Yes, thanks. We just got one this summer and I haven't had a chance to call them about cooking for me yet. With my dad coming to town this weekend and always eating out and him wanting different places, maybe I will give them a try!!!!

That is so great!!!! Thanks G! I actually ate at a Longhorn Steakhouse a couple of weeks ago. I had NO IDEA what I could have. I took my own dressing.....

I talked to the manager and she was GREAT and I got a steak and potato and it was REALLY good steak!

Desperately need a vitamin D supplement. I've reacted to most brands I've tried.

I do not know this, but since they are labelled gluten-free, and are not really a product that could easily be contaminated when making them (there would be not flour in the air of such a facility, for example), I don't really see contamination as something to be concerned about for this type of product.

Thanks @Scott Adams. Do you know if Kirkland Signature supplements share facility and production lines with other products containing gluten?  I'm worried that I'll react to this brand just like I did with other gluten-free labelled supplement brands.

This is a really common area of confusion. Most natural cheeses (cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, Parmesan, brie, camembert, and most blue cheeses) are inherently gluten-free, and you’re right that the molds used today are typically grown on gluten-free media. The bigger risks tend to come from processed cheeses: shredded cheese (anti-caking agents), cheese spreads, beer-washed rinds, smoke-flavored cheeses, and anything with added seasonings or “natural flavors,” where cross-contact can happen. As for yeast, you’re also correct — yeast itself is gluten-free. The issue is the source: brewer’s yeast and yeast extracts can be derived from barley unless labeled gluten-free, while baker’s yeast is generally safe. When in doubt, sticking with whole, unprocessed cheeses and products specifically labeled gluten-free is the safest approach, especially if you’re highly sensitive.
