In Case Anyone Was Wondering...

newsprint does have gluten in it.

so if your 18 month old eats the flyers while his dad is 'watching him' (aka watching a movie) you can expect:

  • colourful flyer puke all over the bed at 2.30 am
  • a mostly sleepless night
  • crabbiness unending
  • and a major poop explosion that soaks the dipe, his clothes and your clothes, all within a few seconds. and it will not smell like roses.

this has been a public service announcement brought to you by canadianmama, who is now in fresh clothes, as is her toddler.

And in those fresh clothes, cleaning out the dog house so hubby has a new place to sleep! LOL

Oh my... What a mess that must have been!!! Just out of curiousity, are you sure it was a gluten reaction and not just a reaction to chemicals in the ink or paper? I'm super paranoid about gluten being in my house and I've never gotten glutened from eating while reading a newspaper. If there really is gluten in the ink or paper I would much rather discontinue my subscription than have it in my house on my dinner table.

i'm only guessing, since it was definitley a gluten reaction and all he'd had that was different was the flyers. theoretically he could also have found a scrap of something on the floor and eaten it, but we're both super careful about that, so it's not very likely. the idea about it being a reaction to the chemicals in the inks is valid, too.... i have no idea where a person would find out what the ingredients of newsprint are. i suppose if you really want to know if that was the cause you could make newsprint tea or a flyer turnover or something... personally i think i'll stick to my theory and just not let him play with the flyers again until he's old enough not to eat them.

"Conclusions: The urinary iodine level was significantly lower in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, and iodine replacement may be important in preventing osteoporosis"  Body iodine status in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis Low iodine can cause thyroid problems, but Iodine deficiency will not show up in thyroid tests.  Iodine is important for healing, its job is to kill off defective and aging cells (Apoptosis). Skin, brain fog, nails, muscle tone all inproved when I started taking 600 mcg (RDA 150 - 1000 mcg) of Liquid Iodine drops. Some with dermatitis herpetiformis, Iodine exacerbates the rash.  I started at 1 drop (50 mcg) and worked up to 12 drops, but I don't have dermatitis herpetiformis.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I found myself giggling with happiness as I read how your body reached such spring! And I hope that your current journey is also successful!! Definitely starting the food diary! So many amazing advices. And it’s very scary. It really hits all our soft spots as well as our confidence system. Most doctors I went thought I was underage despite being in my late 20s. Right now I look like am I twelve, but is also this body that’s taking so much, so I might as well love it too! Going to make the necessary changes and stay in this path. Thank you again! 🫶

Thank you so much for the information and kind message! Reading this transformed how I’ve been viewing my efforts and progress. Guess there’s still a lot to celebrate and also heal 😌  Yes, I’ve been taking it! Just recently started taking a multivitamin supplement and separated vitamin D! I also took chewable Iron polymaltose for ferritin deficiency 2 months ago but was unable to absorb any of it.  Thank you again! Hearing such gentle words from the community makes my body and heart more patient and excited for the future.
