Strange Rash In Pregnancy?

Ok, I haven't talked to my doctor yet about this, but I'm planning on it with my next check up. I have broken out in this bright red rash on my back. It's been there for over a month and resembles acne, but it's fire red and not going away on its own. It is slightly painful and itchy, but not too bad. Does anyone have any clue what this might be? It's been there for over a month and it's just getting worse and worse.

I don't know what it could be, but since it's persistant, I would have the doctor take a look at it.

Hi. I had a strange rash during my last pregnancy, prior to going gluten-free. It started in the late first trimester and lasted for at least a couple of months. It seemed like it had faded by the end of pregnancy. My doc was stumped, but called it PUPPPS for lack of a better diagnosis. I do get DH on my elbows (didn't know it was DH until recently), but this rash was mostly on my back, with some on my thighs and stomach. I also had very itchy shins. I itched more at night.

A few things to check out:

* PUPPPS (spelled with a total of four Ps)

* Pityriasis rosea

* Cholestasis of pregnancy (see www.itchymoms.com) (but I don't think there is normally a rash).

* DH ?
