Has anyone tried Bob's Red Mill Cinnamon Raisin bread mix? Is it worth buying? A store near me carries it, but I was hoping to hear some product reviews first...

:)

Dear Mango,

Be careful with Bob's Red Mill! I have heard they have had cc issues! I stay away from anything that has cc issues! My reaction is too violent! I do not want to chance it!

According to the Bob's Red Mill representative on the phone, they have two separate facilities - one manufactures gluten free products exclusively and the other plant handles everything else they make. We've never had problems with any of their products (we've used the bread mix and the flour mix). I recently bought the gluten free cornbread mix (says on the front of the bag that it's manufactured in the gluten free plant) but haven't tried it yet. I'd be curious about the cinnamon raisin bread - it sounds good - though we generally make our own by just adding raisins and cinnamon to any bread that we're making.

Yes I have tried it, and was not impressed. It seemed to have a funny aftertaste, im not buying it again, I threw most of the loaf in the trash.

Thanks NGG but I'm very sensitive and I've never had even a little bit of a reaction to Bob's. Their products are actually tested for gluten so I've always wondered why so many ppl have problems with them. It's a mystery...:huh:

Dear Mango,

I am glad! I can tell RiceGuy. He buys from them frequently. Perhaps the other people have other sensitivities they are unaware of. That is a good possibility. Being allergic to soy, corn, rice, or legumes is likely the cause of others' reactions.

Sincerely,

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
