I got glutened this week for the ftime in a really long time...I woke up this mroning with a mouth full of painful sores...I know that they are slef limiting but I havent had it in so long that I forget how to best treat it....so far lots of gargling and some motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Someone suggested increasing B vits for a while...any ideas?? Thanks

Sorry you got gultened.

What my baby-brother, an M.D., told me to do (long before I was diagnosed with celiac) was to eat raw garlic. So whenever I got sores (none since going gluten-free) I would make some homemade hummus or some ceasar salad or greek salad. It worked every time.

Good luck to you.

I get mouth sores from gluten. Those are painful! A couple of home remedies: put a baking powder paste on the sores and leave for 5 minutes then rinse. You can also rinse with hydrogen peroxide. It stings, but they heal faster.

Your dentist or doctor can also prescribe cream which numbs them and helps them heal.

I'm 67 and have been celiac for 17yrs. I had cataract surgery and they put a gluten lens in my eye. Through a lot of research, I found out about MMA acrylic...it contains gluten. It took 6 months for me to find a DR that would remove it and replace it with a gluten-free lens . I have lost some vision in that eye because of it . I also go to a prosthodontist instead of a regular dentist because they are specialized. He has made me a night guard and a few retainers with no issues... where my regular dentist didn't care. I have really bad reactions to gluten and I'm extremely sensitive, even to CC. I have done so much research on gluten-free issues because of these Drs that just don't care. Gluten is in almost everything shampoo, lotion, food, spices, acrylic, medication even communion wafers! All of my Drs know and believe me I remind them often.... welcome to my world!

If this applies geographically, in the U.K., physicians will often declare a diagnosis of celiac disease based on the TTG-IGA antibody blood test alone if the score is 10x normal or greater, which your score is. There is very little chance the endoscopy/biopsy will contradict the antibody blood test.

TTG IgA reference range 0.0 to 14.9 KU/L

What was the reference range for that test? Each lab uses different reference ranges so a raw score like that makes it difficult to comment on. But it looks like a rather large number.

I have had the tTG-IgA blood test my result are >250.0  I am waiting for the appointment with the gastroenterologist for endoscopy and biopsies.    what are the chances it’s not coeliacs.  waiting and not knowing is so hard. Especially the eating of gluten knowing it may be causing you more harm and coping with the symptoms.
