How long have you been married?

Close to 30 years to a part-time husband for 26 (he traveled three to four days a week overseas) now he is retired full time. I have twice as much husband and half as much money. B)

My hubby travels, too, but not overseas, just in a five state area. We've been married for 22 years.

Wow, how time flies. Laura, tell that handsome hubby of yours that a nice diamond studded anniversary ring would be quite appropriate, a necessity when you go to all those black tie event in the city. Gotta keep up girl! :P (You get the good stuff in the early years and as the years pass you get the weed-eaters and leaf blowers). ^_^

If the date slips by me, I hope that you have a wonderful celebration.

However, a very nice 2007 Toyota Camry is looking to be parked in my driveway, sometime between now and mid July....so I'm going to count that as my gift ;).

3 years....hard to believe. I was sick at my wedding with undx'ed Celiac....dx'ed 3 months later.

THREE YEARS, NO WAY! (yelling), man I gotta get a life. :o Looking for a project, any suggestions? I am a little depressed this week. I went to Roses to get a shower curtain liner and they gave me the Senior Discount and didn't even ask my age - I don't qualify. So have fun now, it gets a little pitsy in about 30 years.

Guess this whole thread is off topic in so many ways, but fun.

Ann, hope we have cheered you up a bit. Appparently, there are screws loose in many of us and I am first to stand up.

That is FANTASTIC!! I love hearing about longevity in marriages! My parents have been married . . . . forever! Dave's parents were, too. I seriously don't like the fact that I was married only 7 years then divorced. Don't get me wrong . . . being in an abusive relationship is NOT what life is about. And, all my experiences brought me to where I'm supposed to be -- with Dave. I just know that chances are, we're not going to be married 50 years. I'd be 91!! Although, that would still be TEN YEARS younger than my grandmother was!! Okay, maybe I don't feel so bad! I look forward to growing old with Dave. We will be a fun old couple.

Lisa, almost 30 years is great. Pretty cool.

A LITTLE bit goofy?????!!!!! <_<

A horse walks into a bar . . . . .

Bartender asks: "Why the long face?" :P

Just warming up. Haven't gotten to the "hind lick maneuver" stage yet.

ONE BIG MASSIVE ALTOID??????? My question would be "which party will be the recipient of such a curiously strong peppermint? Simply a question, that's all.

BTW: Forgot the rest of the backg-up singing:

Ba Ba Baba, Baba, Baba, Ba; Ba Ba Badag adag adag . . . Oh, forget it. I've been singing these lyrics over and over trying to get them out to write them, then I google'd it and can only get the stupid lyrics, not the backup lyrics for WAY too long. Poop. Sorry about that, for all you "GI" celiacs. You can get me back by saying, "Stagger."

OK Lisa

Now I understand what a blue moon is. Thanks for the insight! By the way I think you are all hylarious. Enjoy your mints!

Full moons always cause lunar madness and I am not joking. Ask anyone who works with emergency situations like police, nurses, doctors, fire, ems etc., they hate working a full moon. Our last full moon this month we had 5 stabbings alone just to do with my job and that was only for one night. As full moon madness is concerend it lasts for the night before and the night after also. So as the 31 is a Thursday and the blue moon once again the tail end will fall on my watch and it will be 10 times worse than any other full moon. The blue moon months are always worse than a normal full moon month. So, as the first full moon was very bad this month this next one will be just the worst.

I kid you not . . . . on full moons, when I was practicing, EVERYONE would call with some bizarre ache or pain and HAVE to be seen THAT DAY. Since I was out on my own, I needed as many visits as I could get. I would work from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. on full moons -- and the day before, and the day after. I actually marked them on the calendar on the receptionist's desk. ICK.

Yes!!! I am MUCH better off than when I realized we had 2 full moons this month!! Reading all these great posts has mellowed my grumpiness and reassured me I am in the right forum!! I love the far out humor, and downright nuttiness ! It really makes my day. This WONDERFUL group of folks is so neat to come home to every night. And my DH of nearly 31 years has finally gotten over the nightly competition for the forum!

@catnapt,  Wheat germ contains high amounts of lectins which are really hard to digest and can be irritating to the digestive tract.  They can stimulate IgG antibody production as your blood test shows.   Even beans have lectins.  You've simply eaten too many lectins and irritated your digestive tract.   You may want to allow your digestive tract to rest for a week, then start on gluten in "normal" food, not in concentrated vital wheat gluten. This explains it well: Lectins, agglutinins, and their roles in autoimmune reactivities https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25599185/

I take Now B-1 (100 mg) Thiamine Hydrochloride, and Amazing Formulas L-Tryptophan (1000 mg).   Both are gluten free and free of other allergens.  I've taken them for a long time and haven't had a problem with them. I take Vitamin A from BioTech called "A-25".  It's gluten and allergen free and made in the USA.  It's a powder form of Vitamin A.  I was having trouble digesting fats at one point, but found I tolerated the powder form much better and have stuck with it since.   Tryptophan and Vitamin A help heal the intestines as well as improves skin health.  I get Dermatitis Herpetiformis and eczema flairs when my stomach is upset.  So I'm healing the outside as well as the inside.   I take one 1000 mg Tryptophan before bedtime.   With the Thiamine HCl, take 100 mg to start.  If you don't notice anything, three hours later take another. You can keep increasing your dose in this manner until you do notice improvement.  Remember not to take it in the evening so it won't keep you too energized to sleep. When I first started Thiamine HCl, taking 500 mg to 1000 mg to start was recommended.  If you've been thiamine insufficient for a while, you do notice a big difference.  It's like the start of a NASCAR race: Zoom, Zoom, turn it up!   This scared or made some people uncomfortable, but it's just your body beginning to function properly, like putting new spark plugs in your engine.  I took 1000 mg all at once without food.  It kicked in beautifully, but I got a tummy ache, so take with food.  I added in Thiamine TTFD and Benfotiamine weeks later and felt like I was Formula One racing.  So cool.  You may feel worse for a couple days as your body adjusts to having sufficient thiamine.  Feels sort of like you haven't cranked your engine for a while and it backfires and sputters, but it will settle down and start purring soon enough.  Adjust your dose to what feels right for you, increasing your dose as long as you feel improvement.  You can reach a plateau, so stay there for several days, then try bumping it up again.  If no more improvements happen, you can stay at the plateau amount and experiment with increasing your Thiamine TTFD.  It's like being your own lab rat.  LoL Yes, take one Benfotiamine at breakfast and one at lunch.  Take the B Complex at breakfast. Take the TTFD at breakfast and lunch as well.  I like to take the vitamins at the beginning of meals and the NeuroMag at the end of meals.   You may want to add in some zinc.  I take Thorne Zinc 30 mg at breakfast at the beginning of the meal.   Are you getting sufficient Omega Threes?  Our brains are made up mostly of fat.  Flaxseed oil supplements, sunflower seed oil supplements (or eat the seeds themselves) can improve that.  Cooking with extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil is also helpful.   @Wheatwacked likes phosphotidyl choline supplements for his Omega Threes.  He's also had dramatic health improvement by supplementing thiamine.  You're doing great!  Thank you for sharing your journey with us.  This path will smooth out.  Keep going!

good luck! vital wheat gluten made me violently ill. I will touch the stuff ever again.
    • catnapt
I wouldn't consider this lucky. I can NOT tolerate the symptoms. And I googled it and I was not even getting 10 grams of gluten per day and I was extremely ill. They'd have to put me in the hospital. I'm not kidding.   I will have my first appt with a GI dr on March 4th   I will not eat gluten again - at least not on purpose   they are going to have to come up with a test that doesn't require it.

What Thiamine Hydrochloride brand do you take? Is it like the other vitamins I have added? What brand Tryptophan and amount do you take. Thanks
