a while ago i reintroduced dairy since then i stopped but im thinking about doing it again, just wondering what anyone else thinks. after having 1 cup of yogurt each day for 4 days, i was feeling better then ever, my stomich pains and all of a sudden left me, i was finally using the restroom correctly 3 times a day with heatlhy looking movements, but then i ended up passing what turned out to be a gallstone, when i told my crappy doctor he told me to stop the dairy. My question is was the gallstone caused by the dairy, or was it the dairy just flushing out stones that i already had (aka a good thing?) all i know is im back to been crappy again, terrible gas, gas pain, and ugly bms. I dont know what i can do to change these thingsi have tried everything, i did citracel for a bit it helped for about 2 weeks and then i started to not go at all and it backed me up so bad i had to go to the hospital, anyone got any tips or anything or any advice. I just wanna feel healthy again :(

btw its been confirmed by 2 seperate docs now, that i do not have celiac disease and both them want me to go back onto bread, but i have my mind so convinced that i do, that i wont challange it

I know thatwhen my dad had 4 kidneystones(!!!!!!!) he was told not to consume any dairy, the reason being they are high in calcium. they said that calcium is part of what caused the kidney stones. so, if they said not to, i wouldnt. also, dairy isnt good for you... go to www.notmilk.com and read about how bad it is. i am not "allergic" but i dont eat any because it is like "poison" according to my doctor. i hpe that helps you.

pretty sure gallstones are diffrent then kidny stones, escpeccialy since i dont eat or drink anything that gives me any calcium i can honestly say i have not had any calcium in my system for a year now. do you think this is a bad thing? would getten calcium pills help my stomich? i need to get regular im tired of only going like every other day for 20 minutes and only getten out a lil 2 inch bm that has the oder of the sewer, its sick and i know its not healthy

Lister, I'm glad you figured out you had gallstones. I thought that was what it was when you described the "marble". As for the gallstone, they are usually made out of cholesterol. The stones can "calcify" and turn hard, which is when they would have to take your gallbladder out.

Most likely the pain you are feeling is gall attacks. I have never heard of avoiding dairy for gallstone purposes. However it is recommended that you limit the oil, fat, grease intake. But some people have attacks to other foods, so you just have to figure out what works for you. If you passed a stone more than likely you have more. They have meds to help break up the stones. My daughter (15 y/o) is on them now. I'm trying to keep her body parts intact if at all possible.

Have you gotten a new job yet? If not, have you applied for the medical? This would be a good time to have an ultrasound done and to have your liver levels checked via blood draws.

As for the c problem, I would recommend taking epsom salts. It is cheap and it works. The directions on how much to take are on the box.

If you don't want to eat bread, then don't. It isn't required to be healthy.

is the gallblader important? o god why do i have these health problems wtf did i do.... and im not 100% positive thats what it even was, its just i looked em up online and the pics i found looked really simaler to what i saw in my bm, but since then i have never seen another one

As far as I know calcium pills wouldn't especially help your stomach... better save your money. Are you still having stomach pains, or is it just the inadequate bm's that you're worried about? You said you felt better with yoghurt, and I was thinking that maybe what you need is some good bacteria in your gut, which is what yoghurt has, which might be why you felt better when you ate it. I usually try to eat what my body tells me it likes... so if you felt better with yoghurt, I think it might be an idea to try it again for a few days. The gallstone, if it was a gallstone, might have been a coincidence. Anyway, trying again for just a few days probably wouldn't hurt.

Just my two cents... btw, how is the new job going, and everything?

The gall bladder in important because it makes bile that breaks up fats/oils into tiny droplets in your intestine. This gives the fat enzymes (lipase) more surface area to act on. Without a gallbladder/bile you would not be able to absorb fat--or fat soluble vitamins efficiently. Gall stones are mainly cholesterol, so I would advise you to lower your cholesterol intake. (Easier said than done, I know ;) .)

Calcium is a very important mineral. In addition to being the building block for bones and teeth, it is also needed for neural functioning, muscle contraction, and various molecular pathways in the body. If calcified gallstones are giving you problems, then you should be mindful of your calcium intake and do not exceed the daily recommended value.

Lister, if yogurt was helping you, maybe it was the probiotics in the yogurt. You might buy some probiotics and see if they have the same positive effect on your system.

Have you ever considered that many of your symptoms may be from a candida overgrowth?

i have considerd just about every disease/sickness out there because after 1 year i still dont have any answers i even switched doctors to a acual Gastroentorologist in hopes of finding real answers and after all of his tests where done all i know is what was ruled out but still no sound ansers he thinks its either chrons disease or just gastritis, but if it was gastritis drinking is suppose to make it way worse but when idrink a glass or 5 of wine i feel way better for a while

i seriusly need to figure out something.. ugh... the rest of this post needs to be highlighted to read since well i dont like to be gross 'but somtimes its the only way to explain things

i really need to figure out whats causing my bathroom problems, im still only going like once every other day and i hardly get anything out but it also comes with what i can only describe as dark brown mud, like it literarly looks like mud, it cant be heatlhy thats all i know.. but i dont know what to do and it smells like horrible like rotton trash, same with my gas terrible sewer smell i know its not heatlhy and its acually kinda freaking me out

For the calcium, you could just take tums, they are high in calcium and are fairly inexpensive. It is possible that it was a coincidence. Try the probiotics, yoghurt etc, it can't hurt.

Also as far as your bm's it could be the lack of not getting enough fiber.

Tums are not reccommended for someone who is gluten-free. Some varieties are clearly not gluten-free and the others run a high risk of CC. Also antiacids are not a good way to get calcium, the antiacid properties of the drugs themselves prevent the calcium from being absorbed. Rolaids or Pepto Bismal are a better safe choice for tummy relief when needed.

i try to make my diet high in fiber or atleast to my knowlege it is, first off almost anything that is made into gluten-free from something that was not is like almost 100% rice and tapioca, then i eat salads everyday and meat, though i did figure out the really bad gas comes from the chips i eat, so i probably need to find something to substatue for them

also i was taking citracel for a while (it says gluten-free right on it) and it was helping my bms awsomly for like 2 weeks then all of asudden i did not go for 4 days and i had to go to the doctor and get some lovely meds i would rather not talk about because the citracel had plugged me up so bad i could feel it thru my entire stomich

Yes, we have been aware that this can be an issue with mushrooms but as long as they are rinsed thoroughly it should not be a problem since the mushrooms don't actually incorporate the gluten into their cellular structure. For the same reason, one needs to be careful when buying aged cheeses and products containing yeast because of the fact that they are sometimes cultured on gluten-containing substrate.

      The one kind of food I had been buying and eating without any worry for hidden gluten were unprocessed veggies. Well, yesterday I discovered yet another pitfall: cultivated mushrooms. I tried some new ones, Shimeji to be precise (used in many asian soup and rice dishes). Later, at home, I was taking a closer look at the product: the mushrooms were growing from a visible layer of shredded cereals that had not been removed. After a quick web research I learned that these mushrooms are commonly cultivated on a cereal-based medium like wheat bran. I hope that info his helpful to someone.
