Glutino Frozen Cheese Duo Pizza

We finally tried the Glutino brand pizzas - just a 9" pizza with cheese and sauce, frozen - baked as directed directly on the rack and then under the broiler and they're DELICIOUS. You could probably add veggies or pepperoni if you liked but it's the texture that's exactly like a regular (good quality) frozen pizza.

A little pricey but good enough to make me buy more.

Glad to hear this, I have seen these in stores and haven't tried it because I was disappointed by Amy's. I really enjoy The grainless bakers pizza. I am going to pick up one of these next time I see it. Thanks for the info.

I thought they were ok. I like the Foods by George ones better. I haven't tried the Grainless Baker ones but I would bet they are good.

To be honest before becoming gluten-free, I had never had a frozen pizza, so in all honesty I don't think any of them are spectacular but it works for a quick lunch at times.

I have to agree with you on that, I never had frozen pizza before either, I was not a fan. Now though I can crave for it. Strange...craving something you never really had.

My son really likes the duo with spinach and feta. I think too, that Georges pizzas are better, but they are usually more expensive and I just make them anyway.. I like mine best! hehehe..

Good to hear that the Cheese Duo Glutino pizza is good. I really liked the Spinach and Feta one, even though it was very rich (at least to me). Trying the Cheese one is definately on my list of foods to pick up.

I am making the duo cheese pizza tonight for supper. I can't wait to try it. They were on sale at a health food store I popped into for $3.19. I figured that wasn't too bad , so I bought it. I am baking it as I type. Hope it's as good as you all say!! ;)

Dear Mamatide:

I agree with you 100 percent! Glutino pizza is the best, not to mention the cheapest. Most gluten-free pizzas are expensive, Glutino small personal duo cheese pizza is only $3.99 at the Good Food Company. I always add more cheese, sauce and some pepperoni and it is wonderful!

I thought the pizza was "OK". It wasn't the best I have had and it wasn't the worst I have had. Needs more sauce and more cheese. I did add my own peperoni. I would buy it again if it was on sale. However, probably wouldn't pay the 4.50 they were wanting when it wasn't on sale.

Did you find those Glutino pizzas at Whole Foods or online?

I found them at Wegmans.

oh, is the spinach feta one good? I have one sitting in my freezer and I'm pretty nervous to try it, because the amy's pizzas taste like a giant rice cracker lol. Is it better than the amys?

Have any of you tried the Kinnikinnik pizza crust shells? They're pretty good. They are relatively thick (compared to the other brands) and stay crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Even though it takes a few more minutes to add my own toppings, it makes for a pretty tasty alternative. Not to mention, I get a pack of 4 crusts for the price of one pre-made pizza ;)

i love them, but only work when it's just me having pizza! But they sort of taste like ellio's pizza if anyone is from the north and knows those!

I also really like the spinach and feta pizza, the crust was pretty tasty and had good flavor. Also, who couldnt use the extra serving of veggies especially spinach with all the vitamins.

Question: Does anyone know if there is a way to make these in the microwave? I would love to bring one to work once in awhile.

Thanks!

I tried the Glutino Duo Cheese Pizza last week and was so happy to have a pizza that tasted closer to the real thing than other Gluten Free Pizza's. I purchased the spinach and feta to try this week and I have to say I am really disappointed. It tastes just like the yucky rice crust pizza from Amy's. I'm going to stay with the Duo cheese!

The first time I tried it, I wasn't so impressed w/ the spinach and feta either, but I had bought a few, so I spruced it up a bit. I added some tomato sauce, hamburger, canadian bacon, and tomatoes to the top, and ended up really enjoying it. I can't eat them any more (DF), but I do sometimes crave that one.

My son LOVES the Glutino frozen pizza's.

I tasted the one I bought for him and he thought it was pretty good as far as gluten-free goes.

I have also used the Glutino gluten-free pizza crusts. The only downside to that is that you need to make sure to put the topping on the right side or they bowl the wrong way and the toppings slide off. LOL

My son liked the Amys gluten-free frozen pizza too but that was nearly $8. Bah!

Thanks for your response.  Everything you mentioned he is and has been doing.  Tobacco is not the same as nicotine.  Nicotine, in the form of a patch, does not cause gastrointestinal irritation.  Smoking does. He is not smoking.  Please do your research before stating false information. Dr. Paul Newhouse has been doing research on nicotine the last 40 years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.

@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.

Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system
