Today my mom went in for an physical and talk about celiac, she thinks she has it now. But she also went in cause she was having major boob pain and ovary pain for the last few weeks. So the doctor said it could be from her thyroid, i had never heard this before, so just wanted to see if anyone else has heard of this. I had just thought it was another stage of menopause what she was going threw.

Yes, it could very well be menopause. I started perimenopause when I was 35. I had terrible breast uncomfort (same feeling as when your milk dropped when you were nursing a child), and tenderness.

When the bra came off at night, it felted like 20 lbs hit the floor. (sorry guys if this is TMI).

The ovaries can equally be disrupted. Hormonal changes can be big.

thanks momma goose, i can always rely on you to make me feel better. I am really hoping it is just menopause, she is 55 and has been going threw menopause since i started to have kids, every time i had a kid she lost her period, that is how close we are, but after my last bb who will be 3 tommorow she has never got her period again. the dr did say he can give her some meds to relieve the pain but it would make her lactaid, and she refused to lactate at her age lol. I just worry so much about her cause she is my best friend and i dont want anything to happed to her.

Paula, it would make good sense for her to get a good blood work up, during her physical. If she is 55, a short few years from me, it's good to see where she is and what supplements she might be lacking. And check on the thyroid while she's there.

I envy your closeness with your mother. I lost mine when I was 2& 1/2. I don't really know the relationship, but hopefully my two daughters have grabbed that feeling. Time will tell.

They did do lots of blod work, she said they took 4 or 5 vials to check everything and sent her home to do and poop test, she does not want to do that, she is a prude, her best friend is the drs nurse and she even makes her go out of the room and get a different nurse for her pap smear lol. She did tell the dr if anything comes back odd she wants an celiac panel since i was positive threw blood work and he told her no problem. thyroid is a big problem on her side of the family, so it could be that. She has gained lots of wight in the last few years due to an back injury at work yrs ago and she has had to have steroid shots and it has damaged her back.

We are very very close, we can talk about anything, and now that she sees me getting so much better she wants to get healthy also. It is just so hard to see my parents get old, my dad fought prostrate cancer 2 yrs ago and has seemed to beat it, but he still have lukemia and diabetis and high chlorestral, but he is doing great for being 72 yrs old, if you look at him he loos about 60 lol yes my parents have a big age difference lol.

Do a Google search on 'Iodine Breast Pain' and you may get some more info. There are tests to see if you are Iodine deficient - urine loading test most accuarte I believe. Lugols Iodine has had good success. Also do some reading on bio identical hormones , compounding chemists and saliva testings www.canaryclub.com Lots of reasons and sometimes serum blood tests don't show all the answers. All the best for your Mum - hope she she feels better soon.

Thanks for all that information, Im going to look that stuff up today. I will wait til she comes down later for my 3 yr olds birthday that way she can look at the stuff while she is here. Plus if any of the info is scary we can read it together and wont freak out as much lol

I have had thyroid removal and have only side side remaining and take Levoxyl every day.

But I also have boob/ovary pain due to ovarian cysts that began a few years ago. I am very close to starting menopause and my ob/gyn said it was common in women of this age range to get ovarian cysts (with its accompanying boob pain). Cysts are not necessarily cancerous but they should be checked out.

Is your mother's ob/gyn doctor also treating her for the thryoid issues?

well all of her blood test came back great, the dr said she is the most healthy 55 yr old he has seen in years. Even her fatty liver is gone, he said she must being something right. He thinks her pain is just her going threw menopause and thinks she just needs better bras lol. But her thyroid test came back great so it isnt her thyroid.

I am so relieved that she is fine.

What tests thyroid tests did she have done (I hope it was all of them), and what are the results with ranges. I had Drs miss my HypoThyroid for 30 years cos of the TSH only being tested. Tens of thousands of people around the world say the same thing. Just checking that all Thyroid tests were done, and interpreted correctly. Also check for hormonal imbalances with a DO type of Dr. Saliva testing is often best for that. I had oestrogen dominence and need a bio identical progesterone cream to restore the balance. It makes a big difference.

Paula: Did the gynocologist peform a sonogram of her ovaries? Reason being is that those years while you first start "menopausing" your body can ovulate from time to time and that's how you get the cysts. If they did sonogram (transvaginal type) then she had a thorough check out.

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
